Abstract

Background: Basic renography is a nuclear medicine imaging method to assess relative renal function. It is considered as an ideal examination, since it has an ability to overcome the disadvantages of the other present methods with similar purpose. The aim of this study is to provide the characteristics of adult patients underwent basic renography at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital (RSHS) in 2012 – 2016.Background: Basic renography is a nuclear medicine imaging method to assess relative renal function. The aim of this study is to provide the characteristics of adult patients underwent basic renography at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital (RSHS) in 2012 – 2016.Methods: This research was conducted using descriptive quantitative retrospective design with cross-sectional method. Data collected from medical records of patients who underwent renography examination in Departement of Nucelar Medicine and Molecular Imaging from 2012 to 2016 using total sampling method. All medical records of adult patients were included and incomplete medical records were excluded. Data analysis was made using Microsoft Excel 2013. Results: From 400 subjects, 348 were included in this study, male 247 (70,77%) subjects and female 102 (29,23%) subjects. Majority of age group is between 55-59 years old (18,05%). Pre-renal, renal and post renal disease groups were 13 (3,72%), 181 (51,86%), and 155 (44,41%) subjects, respectively. Chronic kidney disease was found in 130 (37,25%) subjects, nephrolithiasis in 115 (32,95%) subjects. Conclusion: Male was the majority subjects underwent basic renography examinations. Subjects belonged to most age group 55-59 years old. Dominant clinical diagnosis indicating renography examination was the renal diease group, followed by the post renal disease group. History of hemodialysis was commonly found in subjects who underwent basic renography examinations. Nephropathic kidney was the most diagnosis based on renography examination results.
