Abstract

This study aims to analyze outpatient satisfaction at Sylvani Hospital by considering the factors that influence it. The research method used was a quantitative survey with a cross-sectional research design, meaning data were collected at a single point in time to capture a snapshot of patient satisfaction levels and the factors affecting them. The cross-sectional approach enabled the researchers to analyze relationships between service quality dimensions and patient satisfaction within a limited timeframe. Data were collected from 205 respondents selected using sampling techniques in a limited population. The results showed that of the five dimensions of service quality (reliability, assurance, physical evidence, empathy, and responsiveness), the dimensions of tangible and responsiveness had a significant influence on patient satisfaction. This study recommends improving physical facilities and implementing a service digitization system to increase patient satisfaction

Abstract

The increasing demand for beauty treatments has made customer satisfaction a critical factor in determining the success of beauty clinics. This study aims to evaluate patient satisfaction with the services provided by Klinik Utama Ramanathan in Medan. Using a quantitative approach with survey methods, data was collected from 60 respondents who had received treatments at the clinic. The analysis was based on five dimensions of service quality: tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Results indicate that the overall patient satisfaction level is high, with the assurance dimension receiving the highest rating (4.4) and responsiveness scoring the lowest (4.1). Regression analysis revealed that assurance had the most significant impact on patient satisfaction, followed by tangible aspects, empathy, reliability, and responsiveness. Although the clinic performs well in service quality, improvements in responsiveness, such as faster response times and enhanced customer interaction, could further enhance patient satisfaction. The study highlights the importance of continuous service quality improvements in maintaining competitiveness in the beauty clinic industry.

Abstract

Patient satisfaction is a crucial indicator of healthcare service quality, particularly in dental and oral health services. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing patient satisfaction in an independent dental practice in Medan. A quantitative, descriptive-analytic approach was used, involving 50 patients who completed a structured questionnaire assessing various service dimensions, including timeliness, dentist competence, communication, and facility conditions. The findings indicate that dentist expertise had the highest impact on satisfaction, followed by responsiveness and communication. Statistical analysis revealed a significant correlation between service quality and patient satisfaction, with the strongest association found in professional expertise. Based on these results, recommendations include implementing a digital appointment system to optimize patient flow, providing continuous training for dentists on technical skills and patient interaction, and upgrading clinic facilities to improve patient comfort. Regular satisfaction surveys are also suggested for ongoing service evaluation and improvement. This study contributes by providing recent data in the post-pandemic dental care context in Medan.

Abstract

Drug-induced gingival overgrowth (DIGO) is a condition where the gingiva is abnormally enlarged caused by anticonvulsant, calcium channel blocker, and immunosuppressant drugs. Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, is used to treat hypertension and is reported to be the first drug to cause gingival overgrowth. The prevalence of gingival overgrowth induced by calcium channel blockers including amlodipine is 6%-83%. This case report was written with the aim of presenting information on the management of DIGO treatment in hypertensive patients without drug replacement also underlines the importance of integrating science-based health education in dental care to support treatment adherence and patient literacy. The 60-year-old female patient came to the Dental Clinic of Bhayangkara Brimob Hospital with the main complaint of enlarged gums since one year ago almost throughout her mouth. Cleaning of supra and sub-gingival tartar, prescribing chlorhexidine gluconate 0.2% mouthwash to be swished before bedtime, and motivating the patient to continue to maintain oral hygiene. Abstract

Malocclusion is an inappropriate relationship of opposing teeth when the jaws are in contact. This malocclusion condition can cause oral cavity problems, one of which is traumatic ulcers. Traumatic ulcers are one of the most common lesions on the oral mucosa, where there is a loss of the epithelial layer beyond the basement membrane and affects the lamina propria which is generally caused by trauma. Traumatic ulcers can occur on the oral mucosa, including: on the tongue, lips, buccal mucosa folds, gingiva, palate, labial mucosa, buccal mucosa and floor of the mouth. The clinical picture of traumatic ulcers is not specific depending on the etiology, has a smooth surface, a yellowish lesion base and red margins and no induration. Ulcers usually heal without leaving a trace in 10-14 days, spontaneously or after eliminating the cause. Traumatic ulcers can occur at any age, both in men and women. The prevalence of traumatic ulcers is quite high. Several studies show variations in the range of 3 - 24% of the population. Management of traumatic ulcers is in the form of correcting predisposing factors. Local symptomatic treatment is the standard treatment for simple traumatic ulcers. Therapy in this case is to provide Oral Hygiene Instructions on the importance of maintaining dental and oral health. In addition, the patient was prescribed topical hyaluronic acid (Aloclair gel 8 ml) to reduce pain, povidone iodine antiseptic mouthwash and vitamin B12 to accelerate healing and the patient was asked to check 1 week after treatment. Summary of the results of traumatic ulcer therapy due to class I malocclusion with topical hyaluronic acid Aloclair gel 8 ml, antiseptic povidone iodine mouthwash, and vitamin B12 showed significant improvement in symptoms. Aloclair gel helps reduce pain and accelerate healing, while antiseptic mouthwash helps prevent infection. Vitamin B12 plays a role in accelerating the wound healing process.
