Abstract

The Charismatic Movement emerged in the mid-20th century under the influence of Pentecostalism, emphasizing direct experiences with the Holy Spirit through spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues, divine healing, and prophecy. This movement has significantly impacted mainstream churches, particularly in theology, worship styles, and leadership. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, analyzing theological, historical, and sociological sources on the Charismatic Movement's development and its effects on mainstream churches. Findings show that the movement has reshaped worship patterns, increased congregational participation, and influenced leadership by prioritizing direct encounters with the Holy Spirit. It has also sparked theological shifts, challenging churches to balance doctrinal traditions with dynamic faith expressions. In conclusion, the Charismatic Movement has become a transformational force, fostering spiritual renewal and greater congregational engagement in mainstream churches.

Abstract

Abstrak The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly influenced various aspects of church ministry, including sermon preparation, creating both opportunities and theological challenges concerning the authority of Scripture, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the responsibility of the preacher. This study aims to analyze the position of Artificial Intelligence in sermon preparation from liturgical, homiletical, and theological perspectives and to formulate a responsible framework for its use. The study employed a qualitative approach using library research by analyzing the Bible, theological books, and relevant scholarly articles. The findings indicate that Artificial Intelligence can appropriately serve as a supporting tool for literature review, sermon outlining, illustration development, and language editing. However, it cannot replace biblical exegesis, theological reflection, pastoral discernment, or the work of the Holy Spirit. Accordingly, this study proposes the SPIRIT- Artificial Intelligence Homiletical Framework, a liturgical model that integrates prayer, biblical exegesis, Artificial Intelligence assistance, theological discernment, sermon construction, and liturgical proclamation. This framework is recommended as a practical guideline for churches and theological institutions to utilize Artificial Intelligence ethically, critically, and under the authority of God's Word.
