Abstract

This study aims to reveal the effectiveness of science teaching based on project-based learning to improve ICT literacy learners in the junior high school with the category of high, medium and low. This research uses descriptive method to describe the students’ equipness of ICT literacy in the science learning based on the project-based learning that is integrated with e-learning. All of the population in this study are junior high school of curriculum pilot project in 2013 in Singkawang. The sampling in this study uses stratified random sampling to determine three of the four schools that represent the school with a category of high, medium and low based on the National Examination score on 2015, namely, SMPN 1 Singkawang, SMPN 3 Singkawang, and SMPN 7 Singkawang and from each school are randomly selected one class. The data collection is done by the observation and questionnaires of the students’ equipness in ICT literacy with effective criteria only if it is in a good or excellent criteria. Based on the analysis, project-based learning science-based learning is effective in equipping ICT literacy learners at junior high school  at the categories of high, medium and low.

Abstract

Development of soft skills is not new in the field of education , as a foundation for the development has been very clear , the Law No. 20 Year 2003 on National Education System , Chapter I , Article 1, Paragraph 1 . Necessity development of soft skills in the international class courses related to problems that arise in pilot programs that have an international class held at Department of Physics, State Education UNY . Of the stub class can be observed on the lecture often seen doubts of students to be actively involved in the lecture . In addition to constraints that arise due to the limitations of the student in mastering English conversation , so they take more time to listen to the contents of the lecture , but also that stood out was the effect of the lack of soft skills development mahasiswa.Rancangan experiments used in this study is the Non-Random Pre - test Post -test Control Group . In this design , making Rambang subyektidak done . This design was chosen because during eksperimentidak allows to modify existing classes . Pre- tests are used untukmenyetarakan prior knowledge while the second group used post- test learning outcomes and take into observation sheet to determine the development of soft skillsselama and after the learning process . Learning activities undertaken by the context -based , causing active students to formulate questions , seek resources and collect information from sources , process the information they have, reconstructing data / fact / value , presenting the results of the reconstruction / development process value . This growing soft skills in students through a variety of self- learning activities that occur in the classroom learning , campus environment , and tasks outside the campus . The development of soft skills significantly influence the improvement of student learning outcomes both process and product are taken through the test data

Abstract

Students’ developmental skills, including critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, creativity, metacognitive skills, communication skills-collaboration, digital literacy-technology are integrated into current issues discussed at the 21st-century skills. Utilization of digital technology as media and learning resources reflects a transition of X generation to Y generation learners. The use of digital technology in learning can be an excellent opportunity to improve the 21st-century skills, particularly in the development of scientific communication skills in learning physics. This study employed 3D Page-Flipped Worksheet on impulse and momentum to improve students’ scientific communication skills. This research belongs to a developmental study with 4D development model covering Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The subjects were students senior high school grade X in Yogyakarta. The results showed that 72.5% of students had excellent verbal communication skills, and 65.6% had good written communication skills. Based on the results, the use of 3D Page-Flipped Worksheet is successful in constructing the students’ understanding and communication skills, both oral and written.
