Abstract

Abstract

This research uses qualitative methods with a focus on retelling the story of Cain killing Abel. Qualitative methods are used to deepen understanding of the symbolic role of Cain and Abel in the biblical text, especially in the Book of Genesis. The data collection technique used in this research is through analysis of various scientific journals that are relevant to the topic studied. Researchers identify and collect information related to the story of Cain and Abel from trusted and quality scientific sources. The main approach applied in this research is a semiotic approach. Through this approach, the author carries out an in-depth analysis of the symbolism contained in the story of Cain and Abel. The semiotic approach allows researchers to explore theological meanings and concepts that may be hidden behind the biblical narrative. During the research process, the author critically analyzed the symbolic meanings found in the biblical text, and the main goal was to support a richer understanding of the theological concepts contained in the story. The results of this research provide deep insight into the symbolic relationship between Cain and Abel, and contribute to theological understanding within a Biblical framework. This analysis also highlights the relevance of symbolic meaning in the context of theology and spiritual life, making an important contribution to theological literature and biblical understanding.

Abstract

This journal article aims to systematically explore the doctrine of the Bible (Bibliology) as the foundational pillar of the Christian faith and its relevance for believers today. The central problem addressed is the waning acknowledgment of the Bible's authority in the postmodern era, marked by rationalist skepticism, liberal interpretations, and a practical neglect of Scripture in daily life. Employing a qualitative literature research method, this study draws upon theological works from figures such as Louis Berkhof, Henry C. Thiessen, and Paul Enns. The findings indicate that the Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments written over 1,500 years by more than 40 authors, demonstrates a remarkable unity centered on God's salvation plan through Jesus Christ. As God-breathed Scripture (theopneustos), it possesses divine attributes: authority, inerrancy, sufficiency, clarity, necessity, and eternality. The study concludes that Bibliology is not merely an academic discipline but a crucial doctrine that shapes the believer's faith, provides ethical standards, offers comfort, and motivates mission. Its application in personal, family, church, and societal life ensures that the Christian faith remains robust and relevant amidst contemporary challenges

Abstract

This study discusses the methodology and development of Christology from the early church era to the perspective of contemporary theology. The focus of the study includes the influence of Old Testament prophecy on the understanding of Jesus Christ, the deviations in teachings that emerged, and the important role of the Councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon in forming orthodox Christology. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive-analytical approach through literature studies. The results of the study show that Christology has experienced significant developments that are inseparable from historical and theological challenges, including the struggle in understanding the relationship between the divinity and humanity of Jesus. In addition, the doctrine of the Trinity provides an important foundation for the formation of a comprehensive and contextual Christology, especially in answering the needs of Christian faith today.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the concept of the Kingdom of God in the Gospel of Luke and its relevance to contemporary life. The main issue discussed is how the meaning of the Kingdom of God is understood in the Gospel of Luke and how this concept can be applied in the context of modern life. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, by examining various relevant theological sources. The results of the study show that the Kingdom of God in the Gospel of Luke is not understood as a kingdom in a physical or political sense, but as the real work of God present in human history through Jesus Christ. The term Basileia tou Theou emphasizes the active and dynamic reign of God. This Kingdom is characterized by its concern for the poor, the values of love and forgiveness, and its universal nature. In addition, the Kingdom of God has both a present and a future dimension. In the context of contemporary life, the values of the Kingdom of God can be realized through social concern, economic empowerment, attention to mental health, and responsibility toward the environment. Thus, the Kingdom of God is not only a theological concept, but also a reality that must be lived out in everyday life.
