Abstract

This study is grounded in the issue of low student self-confidence in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SMAN 12 Bandar Lampung, attributed to the continued use of conventional teaching methods and the limited integration of media and technology. The aim of this study is to examine the influence of the ASSURE learning model on the enhancement of students' self-confidence in the Islamic Religious Education subject. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically utilizing a post-test only control group design. The research sample was selected using simple random sampling from Grade X students, divided into two groups: an experimental class utilizing the ASSURE learning model and a control class using conventional teaching methods. The research instrument was a self-confidence questionnaire that had been validated and tested for reliability. The data analysis techniques included tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Samples T-Test. The analysis results indicated a significant difference between the two groups, with a significance value of 0.048 (< 0.05), suggesting that the ASSURE model is effective in improving students' self-confidence. The ASSURE model, which is systematic, interactive, and technology-based, has proven effective in creating an active and enjoyable learning environment, while also enhancing students' self-confidence in expressing opinions, making decisions, and facing challenges. This study suggests that teachers should be more creative in selecting instructional models and encourages the use of technology to enhance the quality of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Question Student Have (QSH) method in enhancing students’ learning activeness in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMK Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung, with a particular focus on student engagement in problem-solving activities. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental posttest-only control group design, involving class XI FM 2 as the experimental group and XI FM 3 as the control group. The instrument, a learning activeness questionnaire, was validated and found to be reliable, with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.858. Results from the independent sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.012 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the QSH class and the conventional learning class. These findings suggest that QSH can enhance students’ participation in problem-solving through an anonymous mechanism, thereby reducing feelings of embarrassment and fear of making mistakes. The novelty of this study lies in the application of QSH in the context of vocational education, implying that this method contributes to the development of students’ activeness, critical thinking, communication skills, and collaboration.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the active learning model using the Question Student Have (QSH) method in enhancing students’ learning activeness in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects at SMK Negeri 7 Bandar Lampung. The research background was based on the low indicators of learning activeness, particularly students’ courage to ask questions. The method employed was a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group design, involving two Grade XI classes as the sample: the experimental class, which received QSH treatment, and the control class, which was taught through conventional instruction. The research instrument was a learning activeness questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and the data were analyzed using a t-test. The findings revealed that the implementation of QSH had a significant effect on improving students’ learning activeness, especially in terms of their willingness to participate and engage in discussions. The anonymous mechanism in formulating questions proved effective in reducing shyness and fear of making mistakes, thereby fostering more optimal participation. The novelty of this study lies in the application of QSH within the vocational education context, which not only enhances activeness but also develops students’ soft skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and collaboration, all of which are highly relevant to the demands of the workplace. The implications of this study contribute to the development of more interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful PAI learning strategies at vocational schools. Furthermore, these findings broaden the scope of QSH effectiveness, which has previously been widely applied at the elementary and general secondary levels, to also be relevant in vocational education
