Abstract

This study aims to analyze the income and economic feasibility of potato farming in Buntu Village. The study used a quantitative descriptive method involving 76 farmers selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and observations, then analyzed using calculations of production costs, revenue, income, profit, and R/C and B/C ratios. The results showed an average income of Rp 37,989,605/season/farm, or Rp 108,541,729/ha. Explicit income reached Rp 21,276,168/season/farm, or Rp 60,789,052/ha, but economic profit was only Rp 2,100,642/season/farm, or Rp 6,001,834/ha. An R/C ratio of 1.06 indicates technical feasibility, but a B/C value of 0.06 indicates a very low profit margin and a high level of economic vulnerability. Key-words: Income, Feasibility, Potato farming.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of liquid fertilizers derived from orange, banana, and a mixture of pineapple and papaya waste on the growth and yield of water spinach. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture Experimental Garden in Trini, Trihanggo, Gamping, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. The observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, stem diameter, harvestable plants per m², fresh plant weight, and fresh edible weight. The results showed that fruit waste-based liquid fertilizers had no significant effects on vegetative growth, fresh plant weight, or fresh edible weight. However, the treatments significantly affected the number of harvestable plants per m². Banana, orange, and pineapple-papaya liquid fertilizers produced 92, 91, and 92 plants/m², respectively, compared with 77 plants/m² in the control treatment. These findings indicate that fruit waste-based liquid fertilizers have the potential to increase the number of harvestable water spinach plants.
