Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, khususnya pada materi teks eksplanasi, yang berguna menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan (joyful learning). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian eksperimental. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa pada jenjang pendidikan menengah. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap teks eksplanasi serta mendorong partisipasi aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, strategi ini membuat pembelajaran lebih bermakna dan menyenangkan, meningkatkan motivasi siswa, serta mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Dengan demikian, Project Based Learning terbukti efektif sebagai pendekatan inovatif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dan mendukung konsep joyful learning. Abstract This study aims to apply the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model to improve Indonesian language learning, especially in explanatory text material, which is useful for creating a joyful learning experience. The research method used is a quantitative approach with an experimental research design. The subjects of this study were students at the secondary education level. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Project Based Learning model can improve students' understanding of explanatory texts and encourage active participation in the learning process. In addition, this strategy makes learning more meaningful and enjoyable, increases student motivation, and develops critical and creative thinking skills. Thus, Project Based Learning has proven effective as an innovative approach in improving the quality of Indonesian language learning and supporting the concept of joyful learning.
