Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that there are several new students who have poor physical health, there are new students who lack the motivation to study, there are new students who are anxious about making presentations in class, there are students who feel anxious in the learning process, there are students who are afraid that their grades will be problematic because their attendance is less than optimal. The aim of this research is to describe: the readiness of new students seen from physicality, the readiness of new students seen from psychology, the readiness of new students seen from skills and knowledge. This research was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods. The population of this study was 134 BK students from the Class of 2024 at PGRI University, West Sumatra. The sampling technique in this research was carried out using a random sampling technique, namely 100 people. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire instrument and the data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results of this research show that the Learning Readiness factor for BK Students Class of 2024 is in the quite good category. The learning readiness factor is seen from: 1) Physical condition is in the quite good category, 2) Psychological condition is in the quite good category, 3) Skills and knowledge are in the quite good category. Based on the research results, it is recommended that BK students, Class of 2024, be able to maintain their learning readiness to increase motivation in learning.
