Abstract

The Pinus Ciherang area, located in Sukamukti Village, Cisayong District, Tasikmalaya Regency, at the foot of Mount Galunggung, holds great tourism potential, particularly with the presence of beautiful pine forests and the waterfalls Curug Badak and Curug Ciherang. However, this exceptional potential has not been well managed, mainly due to the local community's lack of awareness about the valuable assets in their surroundings. As a result, the area has not developed optimally. To realize this potential and address the issue of unorganized management, a holistic development strategy needs to be implemented. The objective of this study is to formulate a sustainable development strategy for the Pinus Ciherang nature tourism area through the identification of local potentials, community empowerment based on Community Based Tourism (CBT), and the application of the 4A concept (Attraction, Accessibility, Amenity, and Ancillary) along with digital innovation to enhance the local economy. This study uses a literature review method. The approach involves applying the 4A strategy and the principles of Community Based Tourism (CBT). Through the 4A strategy, natural attractions such as pine forests and waterfalls can be optimized, accessibility to the location improved, supporting facilities for tourists provided, and appropriate service institutions established.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the housing distribution patterns in Tawang District, Tasikmalaya City, which is a central urban area experiencing rapid residential infrastructure development. Limited land availability, increasing population, and urbanization pressures have led to increasingly complex pattern changes, necessitating mapping of housing distribution patterns to understand city growth trends. The technique applied is a quantitative approach using Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) analysis on housing location data derived from satellite image interpretation. The analysis results reveal that the housing distribution exhibits a dispersed pattern, as evidenced by a nearest neighbor ratio of 1.41 and a Z-score of 2.82, indicating statistical significance. This dispersed pattern is influenced by factors such as accessibility, changes in land use, and spatial planning policies designating Tawang District as a strategic area with mixed-use functions. In addition, there are indications that space usage is not always appropriate, considering that some housing appears outside the official residential zones. These findings emphasize the importance of better monitoring of space usage so that housing development can align with existing spatial plans. Overall, this study provides insights into the spatial dynamics of housing growth, which play a crucial role in urban planning.

Abstract

Drought is a type of hydrometeorological disaster that is becoming increasingly frequent and severe due to global climate change. This phenomenon has a significant impact on food security, access to clean water, as well as social and economic stability, especially in highly vulnerable areas such as West Nusa Tenggara and temperate countries like Germany. This study aims to examine the characteristics of drought and its consequences in these two regions, review the effectiveness of mitigation and recovery measures that have been implemented, and assess the potential application of long-term risk management that can adapt to climate change. The method used is a systematic literature review by identifying, selecting, and synthesizing scientific articles and reports from relevant official institutions. From the analysis conducted, it was found that NTB faces chronic drought problems with limited water infrastructure and highly vulnerable social conditions, whereas Germany experiences severe drought due to prolonged rainfall shortages, impacting the agriculture, energy, and water resource sectors. Mitigation efforts in NTB still largely focus on emergency response and basic infrastructure development, while Germany implements a more comprehensive approach based on data and nature-based solutions. The opportunity to implement long-term risk management is considered highly dependent on the ability to integrate monitoring systems, strengthen local institutions, and adopt sustainable solutions. These findings emphasize the importance of an adaptive approach that balances structural interventions, preparedness, and inclusive water management.
