Abstract

Bible reading remains a cornerstone of spiritual growth for Christians, yet modern distractions and shifting values have diminished its consistency among young adults who face unique challenges like academic demands and social obligations. Existing research highlights the importance of spiritual practices but often generalizes young adults' habits, leaving a gap in understanding the specific attitudes, perceptions, and factors influencing students' engagement with Scripture. This descriptive study was conducted at San Isidro College with 146 first-year students selected via stratified random sampling. The findings indicate that first-year college students hold a high level of positive attitude toward Bible reading, with an overall mean score of 2.68, valuing its spiritual, emotional, and relational benefits. These results highlight the students' recognition of the spiritual, emotional, and relational benefits of Bible engagement, affirming its significance in their personal and faith development. However, findings also highlight the need for innovative and structured approaches to facilitate engagement and address misconceptions about formal Bible study.

Abstract

Digital media literacy is essential in navigating and effectively utilizing digital tools for educational success in today’s technology-driven world. In mathematics education, leveraging these skills enables students to engage with digital resources that support learning and enhance performance, though many still face challenges in integrating these competencies effectively. The study employed a descriptive correlational design to examine digital media literacy and mathematical performance among students. Respondents were selected from seven departments of San Isidro College using stratified random sampling. The study reveals that students exhibit high digital media literacy, reflecting their readiness to utilize digital tools across academic contexts. However, the observed association between digital media literacy and mathematical performance is minimal and statistically insignificant, indicating that digital competencies alone may not substantially influence mathematics outcomes. These findings suggest that while digital media literacy is important, its role in mathematics education requires further contextual alignment to optimize its impact. Moreover, the results highlight the need for more targeted integration of digital tools within mathematics instruction to enhance their educational outcomes.

Abstract

Understanding how nursing students learn and respond to ethical principles in healthcare helps reveal how well they are being prepared for real-life clinical decisions. Responses were gathered through an online survey completed over a three-week period involving 72 nursing students enrolled in the course Bioethics. The results show that nursing students possess a strong understanding of bioethical principles, hold a generally positive attitude, and recognize the real-life relevance of ethics in nursing practice. These findings suggest that integrating bioethics into the curriculum effectively supports the development of ethical awareness and decision-making among future healthcare professionals. The results underscore the importance of strengthening ethics education to ensure that nursing students are equipped to respond ethically and responsibly in diverse clinical settings.
