Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) in collecting infaq and alms at the Darussalam Grand Mosque in Palangkaraya. Employing a descriptive qualitative method, data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. The adoption of QRIS began during the COVID-19 pandemic as an effort to adapt to technological developments and to facilitate non-cash donations. The initiative was supported by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), allowing congregants to give alms more practically and securely. From an Islamic legal perspective, the use of QRIS is permissible based on the principle of al-ashlu fi al-mu’amalat al-ibahah and is reinforced by a fatwa from the National Sharia Council (DSN-MUI) concerning sharia electronic money. The digital system enhances transparency and accountability in managing alms funds. This study concludes that QRIS improves donation convenience, increases the efficiency of fund collection, and demonstrates the integration of technology in worship practices.

Abstract

This study examines the exegetical methodology and interpretive patterns of the Khawarij, a sect that emerged from political and theological conflicts following the arbitration between Ali ibn Abi Talib and Mu’awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan. The background of this research lies in the need to understand how early extremist groups such as the Khawarij interpreted the Qur’an in a literal and textual manner, and how these interpretations impacted religious and socio-political practices. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using library research methods, gathering data from classical tafsir works, Islamic historical literature, and contemporary academic journals discussing the Khawarij. The study compares Khawarij exegesis with the mainstream Sunni tradition, which emphasizes contextual and inclusive interpretations. The findings reveal that Khawarij interpretation falls into three main categories: fiqhi (legal), ideological, and socio-political, all rooted in a rigid understanding of Qur’anic texts without considering the asbab al-nuzul (occasions of revelation) or maqasid al-shariah (objectives of Islamic law). Among Khawarij factions, Ibadhiyah represents the most moderate strand and still exists today. The study concludes that although Khawarij interpretation holds historical significance, it has had limited influence on contemporary Qur’anic studies due to its rigid and exclusionary hermeneutical framework.

Abstract

Recitation of the Qur’an (Tilawah) is not only a religious practice but also an artistic expression containing profound aesthetic values. This study aims to explore the beauty of Qur’anic recitation through Al-Ghazali’s four-dimensional aesthetic framework: ilāhiyyah (divine), ‘aqliyyah (rational), qalbiyyah (spiritual), and ḥissiyyah (sensory). Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected from literature review of classical and contemporary sources on Qur’anic recitation and Al-Ghazali’s writings. The findings reveal that the harmony between melodious recitation and correct tajwīd embodies both sensory and spiritual beauty, bridging intellect, emotion, and faith. Tilawah thus functions as a multidimensional practice that purifies the soul (tazkiyah al-nafs) and strengthens the reader’s connection with Allah. The study highlights the integration of sound, meaning, and devotion as central to the aesthetic experience of Qur’anic recitation.
