Abstract

Physics learning in secondary schools often encounters challenges, including limited contextualization, low student motivation, and difficulties in grasping abstract concepts such as heat and thermodynamics. Addressing these issues, this research developed innovative physics learning media utilizing the Lumio by SMART application integrated with differentiated instruction and local wisdom. This study aimed to enhance the quality of physics learning and foster cultural awareness among students. Employing Educational Design Research (EDR) with the 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination) model, the research involved 33 senior high school students and one physics teacher from West Sulawesi. Validation by experts showed that the learning media achieved high validity (90.13%). Practicality tests with students and teachers indicated very practical outcomes, scoring 84.17% and 92.49%, respectively. The media's effectiveness was assessed through student learning outcomes, revealing that 87.87% of students met the Minimum Mastery Criterion, with an average N-Gain of 0.65, categorized as medium improvement. This research introduced a novel integration of differentiated pedagogy, modern digital technology, and local cultural elements, significantly improving conceptual understanding and accommodating diverse learning styles. The findings emphasize that culturally contextualized, differentiated instructional approaches enhance physics education, fostering inclusive and meaningful learning experiences. The developed media contributes positively to educational practice by aligning technological innovation with cultural preservation in physics learning.

Abstract

Abstrak: Telah dilakukan penelitian rancang bangun alat praktikum efek Hall dan penentuan muatan elektron menggunakan mikrokontroler Atmega 328. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun alat praktikum efek Hall serta penentuan muatan elektron menggunakan mikrokontroler Atmega 328. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model Borg & Gall, yang terdiri dari tujuh tahap. Hasil validasi alat menunjukkan bahwa alat yang dirancang mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 3,1 dari validator, yang menunjukkan kelayakan alat tersebut. Percobaan menggunakan alat ini melibatkan pengukuran arus dan medan magnet pada efek Hall serta arus pada LED dalam penentuan muatan elektron. Berdasarkan uji coba dan respon praktikan, alat ini dinilai mudah digunakan dan efektif dalam mendukung pemahaman konsep fisika modern, dengan rata-rata penilaian sebesar 3,42. Kesimpulannya, alat ini layak digunakan dalam praktikum fisika modern. Kata Kunci: Fisika modern, alat praktikum, efek hall, muatan elektron, mikrokontroler Atmega 328. Abstract: Research has been conducted on the design of the Hall effect practicum tool and the determination of electron charge using the Atmega 328 microcontroller. This study aims to design and build a Hall effect practicum tool and electron charge determination using an Atmega 328 microcontroller. The method used is research and development (Research and Development) with the Borg & Gall model, which consists of seven stages. The results of the tool validation show that the designed tool gets an average score of 3.1 from the validator, which indicates the feasibility of the tool. Experiments using this tool involve measuring the current and magnetic field in the Hall effect as well as the current in the LED in determining the electron charge. Based on trials and practitioner responses, the tool is considered easy to use and effective in supporting the understanding of modern physics concepts, with an average rating of 3.42. In conclusion, this tool is suitable for use in modern physics practicum. Keywords: Modern physics, lab kit, hall effect, electron charge, Atmega 328 microcontroller

Abstract

The people of Galeso Village in Polewali Mandar Regency depend on seaweed farming as their main source of income. However, there are several obstacles such as long seaweed removal time and limited knowledge about processing seaweed into high-value products. The purpose of this Community Partnership Service (PKM) activity is to increase partners' knowledge and skills in using mechanized seaweed pulling technology and processing seaweed into high-value products. The methods used included situation analysis, counseling, training and mentoring, and evaluation. Activities were carried out through lectures, questions and answers, and hands-on practice by participants. Pretest and posttest were used to measure the improvement of participants' knowledge and skills. The results showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge and skills in using technology and processing seaweed. This was reflected in the 79.80% increase in participants' posttest scores compared to the pretest. Participants also showed high satisfaction with the implementation of the training. The PKM activities succeeded in achieving the objectives by increasing the ability and knowledge of partners, which is expected to increase the sustainability of seaweed cultivation businesses in Galeso Village and its surroundings.
