Abstract

Rainwater Utilisation is one way of preserving and conserving water resources. At present, the use of groundwater is increasing without being accompanied by its sustainability. To maintain the availability of groundwater and to find alternative sources of water to meet daily needs, rainwater harvesting can be done by applying technology. This activity in Wundudopi Village, Baruga District, Kendari City aimed to provide understanding and explanation on the construction of biopore infiltration holes, infiltration wells, and rainwater harvesting. The practical method consisted of surveying and identifying the site, studying the problems, socializing, and making a rainwater harvesting model. Biopore infiltration holes and infiltration wells are used to facilitate the infiltration of rainwater into the soil, increasing groundwater reserves and reducing surface run-off. And rainwater harvesting as an alternative to supply daily water needs. With this community service, rainwater harvesting can be implemented in the domestic environment as a form of participation and responsibility for the availability and sustainability of water resources.

Abstract

Kata kunci: Banjir, Mitigasi Bencana, Analisis Kerentanan, Bangunan Ukur, GIS    ABSTRACT: Flooding is a frequent disaster in Indonesia, causing significant impacts on the environment, infrastructure, and socio-economic conditions of communities. This study aims to integrate flood vulnerability analysis with the design of adaptive measuring structures as village-scale mitigation infrastructure in Leyao Village, North Gorontalo. The method employs GIS-based spatial analysis using overlay, scoring, and weighting techniques on parameters including topography, rainfall, river proximity, land use, and settlement density, combined with a qualitative descriptive approach to formulate design criteria. The results indicate that the northern area has high to very high vulnerability, making it a priority for locating measuring structures with adaptive features such as elevated floors, reinforced concrete foundations, and waterproof walls. This integration enhances hydrological monitoring and early warning system effectiveness. The study concludes that such an integrated approach strengthens community-based flood mitigation. The implication is that this model can serve as a reference for developing sustainable, community-oriented mitigation infrastructure in other flood-prone areas.
