Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the caregiver (pengasuh) in leadership innovation at Pondok Pesantren Al-Roudloh Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang and its impact on enhancing the religiosity of the students (santri) and the surrounding community. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the caregiver plays a central role in shaping the students' character through an approach that emphasizes role modeling, discipline, and independence. Leadership innovation is implemented through openness in activities that develop students’ potential and character formation based on traditional pesantren values. The main challenges include the young age of most students and the need to preserve the pesantren’s cultural heritage. Positive impacts of this leadership innovation are reflected in a more systematic management of the pesantren and increased student engagement in community activities. The study concludes that the charisma and leadership strategies of the caregiver significantly contribute to shaping an adaptive pesantren education system that remains rooted in traditional Islamic values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of principal leadership in encouraging innovation in educational institutions, especially in SMP Negeri 2 Peterongan. Educational innovation is an important factor in improving the quality of learning and adapting schools to the development of the times. In this context, the principal as a leader plays an active role in creating an atmosphere that supports the implementation of innovation in all aspects of the school, from curriculum development, technology-based learning, to self-development programs for teachers and students. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and school staff. The results of the study indicate that the principal at SMP Negeri 2 Peterongan applies transformational leadership that supports the creation of various innovations. Communicative, open, and collaborative leadership helps motivate teachers to innovate in learning and school management. In addition, the principal also has an important role in creating an innovative school culture by encouraging the active involvement of all related parties in designing and implementing new programs. This research is expected to contribute to the development of an effective leadership model in improving educational innovation at the secondary school level, as well as providing insight for other principals in implementing policies that support innovation in schools.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies implemented by SDN Kalangsemanding Jombang in preventing and handling bullying cases. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was performed using interactive analysis techniques. The results show that the strategies implemented by the school include three main aspects: preventive, intervention, and rehabilitative strategies. Preventive strategies involve anti-bullying outreach, strengthening religious values, and implementing strict disciplinary rules. Intervention strategies include counseling for victims and perpetrators, as well as conflict resolution based on mediation. Rehabilitative strategies focus on psychological support and character development to change student behavior. It can be concluded that the combination of strategies implemented at SDN Kalangsemanding Jombang is effective in reducing bullying cases. This research recommends strengthening supervision and increasing the involvement of parents and the school community.
