Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem pemantauan tugas akhir skripsi (TAS) berbasis Appsheet sebagai solusi atas keterbatasan sistem pemantauan yang ada di Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Permasalahan utama yang diidentifikasi mencakup rendahnya efisiensi dan minimnya dukungan terhadap interaksi mahasiswa dan dosen pembimbing dalam proses penyelesaian tugas akhir. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan research and development (R&D) dengan model 4D (define, design, develop, disseminate). Penelitian berfokus pada kebutuhan di Departemen Administrasi Publik UNY. Hasil pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa sistem ProTAS menyediakan berbagai fitur unggulan, termasuk pemantauan progres berbasis grafik, penjadwalan seminar dan sidang, serta pelaporan bimbingan yang dapat diakses melalui perangkat web ataupun aplikasi mobile. Uji coba terhadap lima mahasiswa dan empat dosen pembimbing menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi, masing-masing dengan skor rata-rata 4,30/5 dan 4,46/5. Sistem ini dinilai efektif dalam membantu penyelesaian tugas akhir secara efisien bagi dosen dan mahasiswa. Sebagai langkah pengembangan lebih lanjut, direkomendasikan penambahan fitur notifikasi otomatis dan integrasi dengan jadwal fakultas untuk mengoptimalkan fungsi sistem. This study aims to develop a thesis monitoring system (TAS) based on Appsheet as a solution to the limitations of the current monitoring system at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The primary issues identified include low efficiency and insufficient support for interactions between students and their advisors during the thesis completion process. This research employs a research and development (R&D) approach using the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The study focuses on the needs at the Department of Public Administration at UNY. The development results show that the ProTAS system offers various advanced features, including progress tracking via graphs, seminar and defense scheduling, and supervision reporting accessible through both web and mobile applications. Trials conducted with five students and four advisors indicate high satisfaction levels, with average scores of 4.30/5 and 4.46/5, respectively. The system is deemed effective in facilitating the efficient completion of theses for both lecturer and students. For further development, it is recommended to add automatic notification features and integrate the system with the faculty's schedule to optimize its functionality.

Abstract

Teacher quality is a critical determinant of student achievement and overall educational success. In Indonesia, the enactment of the Teacher and Lecturer Law in 2005 marked a significant effort to improve teachers’ welfare through the Teacher Professional Allowance (Tunjangan Profesi Guru/TPG), which specifically doubles teachers’ income after certification. The policy faces persistent challenges despite its intent, including failure to meet certification targets and limited impact on student learning outcomes. This study examines the effects of the current teacher certification on teachers’ welfare in Indonesia. Employing a desk research method, the research highlights that while TPG contributes positively to teachers’ welfare and motivation, clearly it is still not enough to make teaching a respected profession in Indonesia. Broader systemic issues, such as disparities in earnings, contract-based employment, and the need for additional income, undermine its effectiveness. The findings suggest that teacher certification policies must be refined to ensure equitable and sustainable improvements in teachers’ welfare. This study contributes to limited research on teacher certification and welfare, offering recommendations for more effective policy.
