Abstract

Climate change and increase in global surface temperature are growing concerns worldwide, especially big urban agglomerations like National Capital Region of India, New Delhi and surrounding region have experienced exponential urbanization paving way to horizontal spilling of urban built-up areas, which consequently amplifid the climate variability and surface temperature change over the past few decades. Threfore, the city is highly susceptible to several climate extremes, including heat waves, cold waves, droughts, and flods, impacting socioeconomic lives of over 20 million population. In this study, we applied remote sensing and GIS approaches to study climate variability and its impacts on urban areas. Indicators such as the Land Surface Temperature (LST), Urban Heat Islands (UHI), Normalized Diffrence Vegetation Index (NDVI), and Land Use Land Cover (LULC), were calculated using satellite data for the years 1993, 2000, 2010, and 2020. Th result shows that LST values sharply rose as the maximum value reached 6.9°C in the last three decades (1993-2020), and UHIs maximum values reached 1.76, indicating a clear warming trend in the study area. During this period, the NDVI levels have decreased considerably, going from 0.59 to 0.21, which can be attributed to the expanding urbanization and the decreased green area. Th LULC loss and gain analysis revealed that the urban area has rapidly expanded. In contrast, it resulted in loss of agricultural land, barren and scrubs, water bodies and forest area. Th results show vast climate variability in the region posing threat to environment and socio-economic livelihood of the population.

Abstract

In today’s digital age, equipping government agencies with the right technology is crucial to boost their overall performance. This paper looks at how digital bureaucratic competency and AI-enabled decision support affect public service quality and responsiveness in Pakistan’s public sector. Information was gathered from 423 staff members via a structured Google Form distributed through convenience sampling. The analytical framework grouped the study variables into four main blocks: digital know-how, AI application, service delivery results, and administrative responsiveness. Factor analysis confirmed the latent constructs, while regression tests measured the links between them. Results show that stronger digital skills and AI-assisted tools noticeably improve the speed and quality of public services, especially when demand is high and change is frequent. The research therefore urges deeper investments in training and AI infrastructure if for improved governance. The findings enrich ongoing debates in public administration and provide concrete guidance for policymakers who wish to build quicker, citizen-focused public services in developing countries.

Abstract

This study establishes the role of digital literacy in explaining the connection between Islamic primary education and the current role of Pakistani youth in the political process. In the age when more and more of the political processes take place online, it is crucial to comprehend how religious learning and digital skills converse to create youth interest in the democratic processes. The research information was derived through self-administered structured questionnaire among 250 youngsters in urban centers of Pakistan as a result of which 198 workable responses were obtained. The mediation analysis conducted with the method of regression indicated that Islamic education has a considerable positive effect on youth political participation, and one of the mediators of this association is digital literacy. The results show that the youths who have developed greater COMPETENCE with regard to the process of Islamic education are more politically convened once empowered with digital know-how they would consider participating in online civil discourses and to gain exposure to a varied range of views. Indeed, the study convinces the educational policymakers, specifically those who handle the educational institutions that are under the banner of Islam to inculcate the aspects of digital literacy development in educational programs so as to raise informed and engaged citizens. Contribution to larger debate Modernization is a process that implies the increase of active and active citizens in urban settings across the world, and more specifically the involvement of religion and technology in everyday life is a topic that can be discussed, and this work helps to do so.

Abstract

The COVID-19 crisis laid bare serious gaps in how public agencies handle emergencies, showing that strong leadership, flexible institutions, and clear communication are crucial when faced with emergency situations. This paper looks at those factors together to see how they shape emergency governance in Pakistan, specifically Karachi's public administration after the pandemic. Guided by notions about organizational resilience and adaptive governance, the author used Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze survey data from 263 civil servants. Findings show that resilient leaders boost institutional flexibility and clearer messaging, with both improvements feeding into stronger governance. Institutional adaptability also acts as a partial bridge between leadership and overall governance results. Together, the results underline the need to build adaptable processes and open channels, which enable agencies to respond faster and stay accountable in situations of crisis. The study offers new ideas for governance theory and practical tips for officials trying to upgrade preparedness in fast-growing cities. Future work should test the model in other regions and at different levels of government to see how local context changes the story.

Abstract

In the case of COVID-19, the intention of people to travel has been influenced heavily by digital touchpoints especially from influencer content. This study aims to explain the mediating role of the image of the destination in the relationship between influencer-generated content and travel intention in the context of tourism recovery following the pandemic. A questionnaire was given to potential travelers, out of a total of 300 administered surveys, 227 responses were considered valid. The relationships were tested using regression analysis. The results of the study suggest that influencer marketing enhances the intention to travel more than anticipated and that the image of the destination as a powerful intermediary factor plays a great role. Travelers who were able exposed to engaging, authentic, and trustworthy content written by travel influencers tended to have high perceptions of the destination. These findings propose integrated digital storytelling and image strategy are necessary for tourism destinations trying to restore confidence and demand in the market. This study adds to the body of literature on digital tourism by providing empirical evidence regarding the mechanisms of travel intention towards tourism destinations in the post-pandemic world.
