Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral program in reducing psychological stress among 12th-grade science stream female students. The researcher adopted the experimental method using a sample of female students from secondary schools in the Faida area, Duhuk Governorate. The sample was divided into an experimental group that underwent the cognitive-behavioral program and a control group that received no intervention. The researcher formulated two main hypotheses: that there would be no significant differences between the experimental and control groups in stress reduction, and no significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores within the experimental group. The study relied on a psychological stress scale, and the cognitive-behavioral program was prepared by the researcher. The findings revealed significant differences between the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group, demonstrating reduced psychological stress levels. The results also showed a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group, confirming the effectiveness of the cognitive-behavioral program in reducing psychological stress among participants

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze an aspect of the personality of Kurdish poet Nalbend (1891-1963), whose prominence emerged during the great September Revolution against the Iraqi regime of that time, and who committed suicide upon hearing news of the killing of many people in one of those attacks. To achieve this objective, a descriptive analytical method was used by researchers to collect facts and data on the current study for comprehensive interpretation and analysis. The sample consisted of 337 pages, randomly selected from 2513 pages of his poetical works (Kurds' Garden). After content analysis, results showed that nearly 2866 frequencies of depression symptoms were observed in his poetry across psychological, mental, emotional, and physical aspects, especially after the death of his son and two wives, and Kurdistan's unsuitable political conditions. His poetry contains many religious, educational, political, social, humanistic, and economic concepts. Therefore, researcher suggests that those concerned should utilize it in different stages of study as curriculum, particularly in Kurdistan universities.

Abstract

In modern organizational settings, unresolved psychological conflicts and dysfunctional personality traits among employees often hinder productivity, workplace harmony, and overall institutional performance. This study addresses the critical need for deeper psychological interventions by exploring the effectiveness of a training program based on Freudian psychoanalysis in developing personality traits among university employees. The research aimed to design and evaluate a psychoanalytically-informed training intervention targeting core aspects of personality such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, defense mechanisms, and interpersonal functioning. Employing an experimental one-group pre-test/post-test design, the study involved 16 purposively selected employees from the University of Zakho. Participants underwent a four-week training program consisting of 12 intensive sessions. A validated Personality Traits Development Scale (PTDS) was used to assess personality changes before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis revealed significant improvements in post-test scores compared to pre-test scores, with a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 2.32), indicating the program's substantial impact. These findings highlight the power of psychoanalytic interventions in organizational development by fostering meaningful personality transformation rather than superficial behavioral adjustments. The study contributes novel empirical evidence to the field of workplace psychology, advocating for the integration of depth psychology into team member development initiatives across diverse cultural and institutional contexts

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to examine the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral program in reducing cortisol levels among 12th-grade science stream female students. The researchers adopted the experimental method, as it is appropriate for the topic of the research. The study sample consisted of 60 female students from secondary schools in the Faida area, Dohuk Governorate. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group of 30 students who underwent the cognitive-behavioral program, and a control group of 30 students who did not receive any intervention during the implementation of the program. The participants were selected using a purposive sampling method. To achieve the research objective, the researchers formulated two main hypotheses: first, there is no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the mean scores of cortisol level reduction in the experimental and control groups, and second, there is no statistically significant difference at the (0.05) level between the pre-test and post-test scores in reducing cortisol levels among the experimental group. The study relied on salivary cortisol measurements to assess psychological stress levels, and the cognitive-behavioral program was prepared by the researchers. The psychometric properties of the biological measurements (validity, reliability, measurement accuracy, result reliability) were established. The measurements were then applied, and data were collected and analyzed statistically using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The research concluded that there is a significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental and control groups in favor of the experimental group in reducing cortisol levels. The results also showed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group in favor of the post-test in terms of reducing cortisol levels.
