Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the factors influencing compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among construction workers through a literature review. Despite its importance, non-compliance with PPE usage remains a persistent issue. This research utilized a qualitative descriptive method and was conducted from January to April 2025. A total of 15 relevant articles published between 2020 and 2025 were reviewed. These articles were obtained from various reputable national and international databases, including Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The analysis revealed two primary categories of factors affecting PPE compliance: internal and external. Among these, knowledge and attitude were found to be the most dominant contributors to PPE compliance. These findings suggest that improving PPE usage among construction workers requires a multifaceted approach. Recommended strategies include strengthening workers’ knowledge through continuous education, conducting regular safety training, ensuring the availability and ergonomic design of PPE, and fostering a safety-oriented workplace culture supported by active supervision and peer encouragement. The study contributes to the understanding of behavioral on PPE use and provides insight.

Abstract

Substance abuse of Narcotics, Psychotropics, and Addictive Substances (NAPZA) is a significant public health issue, particularly among adolescents. The lack of knowledge about the effects and prevention of NAPZA is one of the risk factors for its abuse. Therefore, this activity aims to increase adolescents' knowledge about preventing NAPZA abuse through health education. The activity was conducted on December 11, 2025, at SMP Al-Amanah, South Tangerang City, involving 59 students. The method used was health counseling accompanied by interactive discussions. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test to measure the participants' knowledge improvement. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in students' knowledge, as reflected in the higher post-test scores compared to the pre-test. Health education proved to be effective in enhancing adolescents' understanding of the dangers of NAPZA abuse and how to prevent it. Thus, this activity can serve as an initial step in reducing NAPZA abuse rates among adolescents, which is crucial for supporting their mental and physical health. Ongoing education is expected to strengthen adolescents' awareness of the importance of protecting themselves from NAPZA abuse.

Abstract

This study aims to identify factors associated with fast food consumption behavior among adolescents based on the Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) through a literature review. A descriptive literature review was conducted using nine peer-reviewed articles published between 2021 and 2025, retrieved from Google Scholar, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. The findings indicate that adolescent fast food consumption behavior is influenced by two main components of SCT, namely personal factors and environmental factors. Personal factors were predominantly examined through the knowledge variable, which showed inconsistent associations with fast food consumption, while other personal variables, although mostly related, lacked consistent empirical support across studies. In contrast, environmental factors demonstrated more consistent associations, particularly peer influence, mass media exposure, parental influence, and pocket money, which were repeatedly identified as significant determinants of fast food consumption among adolescents. In conclusion, adolescent fast food consumption behavior is more strongly influenced by environmental factors than by personal factors, highlighting the importance of multi-level interventions that address social and environmental contexts in shaping healthy eating behaviors among adolescents.
