Abstract

The development of financial technology (FinTech) has opened significant opportunities to expand access to inclusive financial services, including within the Islamic finance ecosystem. This article examines how the integration of Islamic financial technology (sharia fintech) can enhance digital financial inclusion among Indonesian society throughout 2021–2025. Using a literature review approach based on academic research, regulatory reports (OJK), and international institutional publications, the findings indicate that sharia fintech has the potential to expand the reach of Islamic financial services, particularly for MSMEs, marginalized communities, and younger generations. However, major challenges include low Islamic financial literacy, regulatory gaps for digital sharia products, as well as data security and sharia governance issues. Recommendations include regulatory harmonization, enhancement of digital–sharia literacy, development of governance standards and sharia compliance certification for digital products, and incentives for platforms that integrate maqasid al-shariah principles and inclusion indicators.

Abstract

This study examines the role of kyai kampung (village clerics) in fostering youth religiosity in Blumbungan Village, Pamekasan, Madura, where adolescents have previously engaged in negative behaviors such as illegal street racing, promiscuity, and hedonistic lifestyles influenced by Western culture. The study aims to explore how culturally grounded and participatory da’wah strategies shape youth religious awareness and behavior within the local social context. Using a qualitative interpretive approach with a case study design, data were collected through interviews, participant observation, and documentation from kyai, transformed adolescents, community leaders, and mosque administrators, selected via snowball sampling. Findings reveal that kyai kampung act not only as religious leaders but also as social companions, engaging youth in various religious activities such as pengajian, tajhizul mayit, and mosque programs, resulting in significant improvements in religious participation and moral conduct. The study concludes that culturally adapted, participatory da’wah effectively enhances youth religiosity and promotes social transformation in rural communities, providing a practical model for religious leaders and policymakers seeking contextually relevant approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differentiation and positioning of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) through the internalization of distinctive values as a Unique Selling Proposition (USP) to enhance the competitiveness of educational institutions. The method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design, through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation analysis of leaders, teachers, and students. The results indicate that the differentiation of Islamic boarding schools lies in the strength of distinctive values internalized in the organizational culture, such as spirituality, discipline, and integrity. These values serve as USPs that shape the institution's image and increase public trust. Furthermore, transformational leadership contributes to knowledge management, engagement strategies, and confidence building among Islamic boarding school residents, thus creating a healthy competitive culture. The implications of this study emphasize that the internalization of distinctive values must be strategically integrated into institutional management as a competitive advantage. This is crucial for strengthening the positioning of Islamic boarding schools amidst increasingly dynamic educational competition.
