Abstract

the development of artificial intelligence (AI) has made a major contribution to various fields of life, from health, education, to industry. However, this progress also has negative impacts, especially if used unwisely. This study aims to examine legal protection for the public from the negative impacts of the use of AI, especially related to copyright infringement, plagiarism, and misuse of deepfake technology that can be detrimental both personally and socially. Using normative legal research methods and a literature study approach, the results of the study show that although AI provides many benefits, there are significant legal risks, including violations of privacy, intellectual property rights, and defamation. Therefore, comprehensive regulations and awareness of the public and technology developers are needed so that AI is used ethically and responsibly. Strong legal protection must be balanced with an approach that upholds human dignity and human value.

Abstract

The development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has brought about a significant transformation in the world of education, especially in the creation of learning materials. However, the implementation of these technologies poses various legal challenges that require comprehensive regulation. This study analyzes the regulatory framework necessary to regulate the generative use of AI in the context of education, identifies emerging legal challenges, and proposes solutions for creating safe and legal learning environments. The methodology used was a descriptive analysis with a normative jurisprudential approach to existing regulations and a case study of the generative implementation of AI in educational institutions. The study results indicate that a regulatory framework is needed that covers aspects of copyright, data protection, accountability, and content quality standards. Proposed solutions include the development of AI ethics guidelines, content audit mechanisms, and certification systems for AI-generated learning material.
