Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in the Indonesian economy, including culinary businesses such as Warung Bakso Solo in Tanjung Pinang. However, in facing the digital era, Warung Bakso Solo still relies on conventional marketing strategies that have limitations. Through this community service program, an analysis of marketing needs and the implementation of WhatsApp Business as a relevant and easy-to-implement digital solution was carried out. WhatsApp Business helps improve communication with customers, facilitates promotions, and expands market reach through features such as product catalogs, automatic messages, and customer labels. The results of the community service show that the use of WhatsApp Business has a positive impact on increasing promotional effectiveness, operational efficiency, and strengthening relationships with customers. This program is expected to be the first step for other culinary MSMEs in utilizing digital technology to increase competitiveness and support business growth.

Abstract

Purpose: The increasingly competitive fertilizer industry requires companies to pursue continuous product innovation. This study aims to evaluate the influence of product characteristics, sales promotion, and corporate reputation on the success of new product development (NPD) for Liquid Organic Biofertilizer (LOB) at PT XYZ. Methodology/approach: This study employed a quantitative approach using quota sampling involving 48 respondents who are consumers of the LOB product. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. Results/findings: The findings indicate that, simultaneously, product characteristics, sales promotion, and corporate reputation significantly affect NPD success. However, partially, only product characteristics have a positive and significant influence. Sales promotion and corporate reputation do not significantly impact NPD success. Limitations: The study's limitation lies in the sample size, which only includes 48 respondents and focuses on one company and one product type, limiting generalizability. Contribution: This study contributes to marketing and product development disciplines by highlighting the dominant role of product characteristics in NPD success in agribusiness. It offers strategic insights for business managers, especially in sustainable agriculture and organic product development.

Abstract

The rapid development of the digital economy has created new opportunities for the growth of digipreneurship in coastal regions. However, the level of creativity among coastal digital entrepreneurs remains highly diverse, particularly in areas where digital literacy, technological access, and socio-cultural dynamics differ significantly from urban centers. This study aims to identify the determinant factors influencing digipreneurship creativity that contribute to the development of a sustainable blue economy in coastal communities. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected from three active coastal digital entrepreneurs in Tanjungpinang: Nutribites (a healthy food based digipreneur), Sedap Laris (a home based food business), and ADS (Arus Digital Sinergi), a local software house dedicated to empowering digital entrepreneurs through innovative technological solutions. Data were gathered through open-ended interviews and analyzed using NVivo 14, utilizing coding, word frequency, and thematic mapping. The findings reveal four key determinants of creativity in coastal digipreneurship digital literacy and platform mastery, intrinsic motivation and personal value orientation, collaborative leadership and community engagement, and an innovative socio-cultural environment shaped by coastal traditions and digital market demands. NVivo visualizations (Word Cloud and thematic coding) highlight dominant keywords such as digital, content, creativity, coastal, customers, and promotion, indicating the importance of digital innovation and cultural identity in shaping creative business practices. The study concludes that creativity in coastal digipreneurship emerges from the interaction between individual capabilities and community-based digital ecosystems. Strengthening digital skills, enhancing community collaboration, and integrating local cultural elements can significantly improve the sustainability of the coastal blue economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of cost efficiency strategies on profit improvement through the application of the target costing model among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engaged in seafood processing in the coastal region of Bintan Regency. The main challenges faced by coastal MSMEs include high raw material costs, limited cost control mechanisms, and the absence of systematic cost planning aligned with target profit objectives. This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach involving 50 purposively selected respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and field observations, and analyzed using classical assumption tests and path Analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that both cost efficiency strategies and the implementation of target costing have a positive and significant effect on MSME profitability. The target costing model effectively optimizes production cost structures and enhances operational efficiency without compromising product quality. Overall, the findings demonstrate that target-based cost management serves as a strategic instrument for strengthening competitiveness and ensuring the business sustainability of coastal MSMEs.
