Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of using the TikTok application on students' learning motivation at MI Muhammadiyah 2 Solokuro. In contrast to previous findings that highlighted the negative side of social media, this study reveals that TikTok can be used as a fun and effective learning support tool. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and phenomenological method, data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of fifth grade students, parents, and the school environment. The results of the study show that the use of TikTok can increase learning motivation, enrich insight, and stimulate students' creativity. However, on the other hand, excessive use also has the potential to cause dependence and health problems. Therefore, the use of TikTok as a learning medium needs to be done wisely with the supervision of parents and teachers. This study is expected to be a basis for further studies that examine the long-term impacts and quantitative influences of social media in the world of education.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi yang begitu pesat telah mendorong banyak anak untuk menggunakan ponsel dalam menonton video, di mana TikTok menjadi salah satu platform yang paling digemari. Sebagai media berbasis audio-visual, konten video di TikTok memiliki potensi untuk memengaruhi perkembangan sosial dan emosional anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak penggunaan TikTok terhadap anak-anak berusia 5–6 tahun di PAUD Percontohan ‘Aisyiyah Solokuro. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian mencakup tiga anak, dengan fokus utama pada pengaruh aplikasi TikTok terhadap mereka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TikTok memiliki dampak positif, seperti memberikan hiburan, meningkatkan rasa percaya diri, dan memfasilitasi interaksi sosial dengan teman sebaya. Namun, ditemukan pula dampak negatif berupa kecenderungan meniru perilaku yang tidak pantas, munculnya sikap agresif, dan kurangnya kemampuan dalam mengelola waktu. Hasil temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa TikTok memberikan dampak ganda bagi anak-anak, sehingga keterlibatan aktif orang tua dalam membimbing dan mengawasi penggunaan media digital menjadi hal yang penting untuk memastikan perkembangan anak berlangsung secara seimbang.
