Abstract

Population growth has increased the volume of household waste and has increased people's domestic activities as it is directly launched into waters. One of the major contributors to water pollution from domestic activities is the use of detergents, which contain chemical compounds such as surfactants and phosphates. Detergents contain active chemicals such as surfactants and phosphates which, while effective at removing dirt, can be bad for the environment. When these wastes enter rivers or lakes, they can damage the balance of aquatic ecosystems and disrupt the lives of living things in them. This article includes a review of the effects of active chemicals on surface water quality. A review of previous research shows that the presence of these wastes can reduce the physical, chemical and biological quality of water due to increased values of BOD, COD and nutrients such as phosphates and nitrates.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of using organic fertilizers on the level of primary productivity and biomass growth of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in aquaculture systems. Organic fertilizers play a role in increasing the fertility of aquaculture media by improving the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the environment. Consistent application of organic fertilizers can increase the availability of nutrients, improve the structure of the pond bottom, and stimulate the growth of phytoplankton and zooplankton which become natural food for tilapia, thereby increasing the primary productivity of waters. This increase in primary productivity directly supports the growth and increase in biomass of tilapia. Various studies have shown that the application of organic fertilizers, both in solid and liquid form, can increase the growth rate, survival rate, and biomass yield of tilapia, although its effectiveness depends on the dosage and environmental conditions. Therefore, the use of organic fertilizers in tilapia farming not only helps to preserve the aquatic ecosystem, but also increases the overall productivity and efficiency of the tilapia farming business.

Abstract

In a democratic system, every individual has the right to voice their opinions and ideas, which become the foundation for the formation of public policies that are fair and in favor of the common interest. However, this right is also accompanied by the obligation to actively participate in democratic processes, whether in elections, public discussion forums, or in running the government. Democracy is not only about freedom of speech, but also about active contribution in determining the direction of the nation. This article examines the relationship between individual and collective rights and obligations in realizing quality democracy, as well as the challenges faced by society in implementing both. This discussion aims to strengthen the understanding that democracy is achieved when every citizen not only knows his or her true rights, but also carries out his or her obligation to participate in the political process constructively.
