Abstract

The potential for sharia banking in Indonesia is very large because 87% of the Indonesian population is Muslim. However, sharia banking customers currently only reach 6.52% share of the national banking market. This qualitative research describes the marketing strategy of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in Lumajang Regency, East Java, BSI which increased customers by up to 35%, even though other sharia banks only reached approximately 12%. The results of this research are that BSI Lumajang implements the Islamic Leaders strategy, in addition to implementing the 7P marketing mix (product, price, promotion, place/distribution, people, processes, and physical evidence). The approach of Islamic figures is carried out by establishing friendship with Islamic religious figures, kiai who own pesantren, and village kiai who lead prayer congregations. By implementing a personal approach strategy with these kiai and religious figures, BSI succeeded in improving relationships so that they became BSI customers. The Islamic Leaders strategy succeeded in increasing customers by up to 35%, even though other sharia banks only achieved approximately 12

Abstract

infak dan sedekah (ZIS) yang dikolaborasikan dengan dengan kegiatan pelatihan merawat jenazah. Kedua kegiatan ini penting mengingat literasi zakat memiliki pengaruh signifikan pada peningkatan penghimpunan zakat; pemahaman dan skill perawatan jenazah juga sangat diperlukan. Tulisan ini memaparkan hasil pengabdian masyarakat di 3 (tiga) Perumahan di Jember untuk meningkatkan literasi zakat yang dikolaborasikan dengan pelatihan merawat jenazah dengan pendekatan PAR (Participatory Action Research). Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini, literasi zakat masyarakat semakin meningkat dan pemahaman merawat jenazah juga semakin tinggi. Tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini, kegiatan diagendakan rutin dilaksanakan setiap tahun sekali, serta pendirian klinik zakat sebagai tempat konsultasi bagi muzakki.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a key strategy for Islamic financial institutions to improve service efficiency, expand reach, and facilitate transaction access for customers. BMT UGT Nusantara Umbulsari Branch, as an Islamic microfinance institution, has also begun implementing digital services through the Mobile UGT application. Although the use of digital services has shown an increase year over year, the level of utilization by customers is still not optimal. This situation indicates a gap between the availability of technology and user adoption. This study aims to examine the digital transformation process at BMT UGT Nusantara Umbulsari Branch, to identify the factors supporting the success of digital transformation at BMT UGT Nusantara Umbulsari Branch, and to assess the impact of digital transformation on increasing the number of customers at BMT UGT Nusantara Umbulsari Branch. The research approach employed is a qualitative approach. The research results indicate that the digital transformation process at BMT UGT Nusantara Umbulsari Branch was carried out in stages through digital strategy planning, the development of technological infrastructure and the Mobile UGT application, outreach to customers, as well as the implementation and optimization of digital services. The success of this digital transformation was supported by several key factors, namely management commitment, technological infrastructure readiness, human resource competence, and outreach and education strategies for customers. Furthermore, digital transformation has had a positive impact on customer growth, as evidenced by an increase in the number of customers, expansion of user segments, higher transaction frequency, and increased fund mobilization and service reach of the BMT.
