Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze the influence of competencies and leadership style on employee performance at PT Rekayasa Engineering. Competencies that include abilities, knowledge, skills, and work attitudes in accordance with the demands of the position are one of the important aspects in increasing work productivity. In addition, the leadership style applied by managers or superiors directly affects employee motivation, morale, and achievement. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative method that aims to determine the relationship and influence between variables. The independent variable in this study is competence and leadership style, while the dependent variable is employee performance. Primary data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 71 respondents who are active employees at PT Rekayasa Engineering. Data analysis techniques include validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity), multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis tests using t-tests (partial) and F-tests (simultaneous). The results of the study showed that competence has a positive and significant influence on employee performance, as evidenced by a calculated t value of 2.939 > t table of 1.668 and a significance of 0.004 < 0.05. Leadership style also showed a positive and significant influence on employee performance with a t-value of 2.240 > table of 1.668 and a significance of 0.028 < 0.05. Simultaneously, competence and leadership style have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, as evidenced by the F value of 24.742 > F table 3.132 and the significance of 0.000 < 0.05. These results show that improving employee competencies and simultaneously implementing the right leadership style can improve overall performance in the company environment.
