Abstract

One of the important factors that affect the quality of Natural Resources (HR) is education. Since the early stages of formal education, mathematics lessons have become an integral part in the development of logical thinking and data analysis skills. Mathematics is a very important subject, but in practice it is often considered difficult and less popular by some students. One branch of mathematics taught in schools is statistics. The reality in the field shows that statistical material, especially on the topic of mean, median, and mode, is still not fully mastered by most students. This can be caused by the lack of students' statistical thinking skills, which are the ability to understand, analyze. This study aims to analyze the strength and direction of the relationship between statistical thinking skills and students' ability to solve problems on basic statistical material, especially the material on mean, median, mode. This study was conducted on students in class VIII of Muhammad Shodiq Middle School. The approach used in this study uses a correlational method, which aims to identify and measure the relationship between two variables without providing a direct causal interpretation. The data collection technique was carried out through a written test, which was designed to measure the two research variables, namely statistical thinking skills and the ability to solve basic statistical material questions. The population in this study was 150 students, and 50 students were selected as samples. The results showed that out of 50 students, 13 students (32.5%) were at level 1 of the introduction stage, 22 students (55%) were at level 2 of the analysis stage, and 5 students (12.5%) were at level 3 of the sequencing stage. Although students' abilities in calculating mean, median, and mode were generally good, the results of the analysis showed that none of the students reached a higher level of statistical thinking. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between statistical thinking skills and students' abilities in working on questions on basic statistics material. It turns out that students who have higher statistical thinking skills are usually also more adept at solving questions about mean, median, and mode. The higher the level of thinking, the better the results.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan mata pelajaran fundamental yang dipelajari secara berkelanjutan sejak pendidikan dasar hingga menengah, karena berperan penting dalam membentuk kemampuan berpikir logis, analitis, dan pemecahan masalah. Namun, kenyataannya prestasi belajar matematika siswa di SMK Nurul Jadi masih tergolong rendah, dengan nilai rata-rata hasil belajar berada di bawah Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM), yaitu sebesar 53,67. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya upaya perbaikan pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan kontekstual agar siswa lebih mudah memahami konsep matematika. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas X melalui pemanfaatan media audiovisual sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 10 siswa, dengan objek penelitian berupa penerapan media audiovisual dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi dokumentasi, tugas siswa, lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa, serta tes pretes dan posttes pada setiap siklus. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik rata-rata dan persentase. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus yang disesuaikan dengan Program Tahunan (Prota) dan Program Semester (Promes) sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan pada setiap siklus. Pada siklus I, aktivitas guru berada pada kategori sangat baik dan aktivitas siswa pada kategori baik, dengan nilai rata-rata 73,64 serta 50% siswa mencapai KKM. Pada siklus II, aktivitas guru dan siswa meningkat ke kategori sangat baik, nilai rata-rata naik menjadi 82,40, dan persentase ketuntasan mencapai 75%. Selanjutnya, pada siklus III aktivitas guru dan siswa tetap berada pada kategori sangat baik, nilai rata-rata meningkat menjadi 85,22, dan 87,5% siswa telah memenuhi KKM. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan media audiovisual efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Secara implikatif, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media audiovisual dapat dijadikan alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa, mempermudah pemahaman konsep abstrak, serta menciptakan pembelajaran matematika yang lebih menarik dan bermakna. Oleh karena itu, guru matematika di SMK disarankan untuk mengintegrasikan media audiovisual secara sistematis dalam pembelajaran guna meningkatkan kualitas proses dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Mathematics learning often faces difficulties in conveying complex concepts that are difficult for students to understand. To make the material easier to understand, appropriate learning tools are needed. One effective tool is audiovisual media. SMK Nurul Jadid is a vocational high school committed to providing high-quality vocational education with modern facilities and experienced teachers, so that the learning environment supports the implementation of innovative learning methods such as the use of audiovisual media in mathematics subjects. This study aims to see how the use of audiovisual media affects the mathematics learning process in class X SMK Nurul Jadid. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The results of the study show that audiovisual media is very effective in mathematics learning. The use of this media can attract students' attention, increase learning motivation, and improve students' literacy and numeracy skills.
