Abstract

This study investigates how Kang Dedi Mulyadi (KDM) constructs his political identity on social media through emotional storytelling and cultural symbolism. Using a qualitative descriptive method and Fairclough’s three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), this research analyzes two purposively selected YouTube videos and corresponding public comments. The analysis focuses on textual choices, discursive practices, and socio-cultural contexts to explore how KDM’s identity is performed and received. Findings show that KDM consistently uses Sundanese language, informal speech, and acts of empathy to portray himself as a caring and approachable leader. Public responses reflect trust, emotional engagement, and cultural pride, indicating that his digital persona resonates with grassroots audiences. This study highlights how emotional narratives and local cultural elements can foster political legitimacy and trust in non-Western digital contexts. Limitations include platform bias and limited data scope. Future research should apply cross-platform and mixed-method approaches to examine broader patterns in digital political identity-making.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Language and speech ability of people with Down syndrome is usually slow; Down syndrome is more capable of being a receiver than an expresser in communication. This study aimed to explore the language skills of individuals with Down syndrome and to investigate how psycholinguistic approaches contribute to understanding the language ability of individuals with Down syndrome. The research method was qualitative and a case study with a single subject. The data were collected through observations and interviews. The analysis of the data consists of data transcribing, coding, and data categorization. The results showed a psycholinguistics approach can determine the language skills of a 19-year-old person with Down syndrome. The subject was able to understand simple everyday questions but she faced difficulties in answering questions related to pictures and multiple-choice questions, due to limited cognitive processes, lexicon, syntax, and phonology. Then the expressive and receptive abilities in language showed that the subject has quite good expressive abilities for the Down syndrome category, and for receptive abilities, the subject faced difficulty in complex, abstract questions, and also questions involving multiple choices.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research evaluates the impact of the developed artificial intelligence tool- Yoodli on public speaking skills as well as the confidence of introverted students. AI technology has grown rapidly in education, but little research focuses on its impact on introverted users. Qualitative methods are used, with data collection through observation and in-depth interviews. The results of the study showed that the majority of participants experienced significant improvements in public speaking skills and confidence after using Yoodli. These results show that Yoodli can be a useful solution for resolving introverts' difficulties when giving public speeches. Moreover, Yoodli may be customized to satisfy various individual demands and offer objective, consistent feedback. The research enriched the literature on learning public speaking skills by adding new perspectives on the use of AI.
