Abstract

Water quality is the main factor that influences the survival and productivity of fish in aquaculture systems, including the cultivation of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Earthen ponds are a method that is widely used to cultivate tilapia, but optimal water quality control is needed so that the fish can thrive. Aquaculture or aquaculture is the breeding and care of animals and plants whose habitat is in water. Aquaculture refers to the cultivation and breeding of fish in special locations such as ponds and aquariums. This is done to increase the number of fish we eat or increase the fish population in nature. Types of fish that are used commonly cultivated include carp, salmon, tilapia and catfish. A pond is a piece of land that can hold a certain amount of water and is used to raise or cultivate fish. The Skills Education book states that pond cultivation has several special functions. Abstract

Littering has become a major contributor to water pollution, especially in urban areas and watersheds. This article aims to analyse the spread of polluted water due to people's behaviour in disposing of waste, based on a review of recent literature. The method used is a literature study of various relevant national scientific journals for 2021-2025. The results showed that unmanaged household waste, plastic, and organic waste are the dominant factors in water pollution, which has an impact on the decline in the quality of aquatic ecosystems, public health, and social and economic damage. Integrated waste management, environmental education, and strict monitoring of community behaviour are needed as the main solutions.

Abstract

Village democracy is a tangible form of governance at the grassroots level that embodies direct community involvement in decision-making. In the Indonesian context, village democracy is shaped not only by formal regulations, but also influenced by local values that exist in the community. This article seeks to explore the value bases that underpin village democracy by reviewing the literature on principles of participation and local knowledge. The research employs a descriptive qualitative strategy using a literature review method based on a wide array of scholarly literature and government policies. The findings show that village democracy is based on the principles of citizen engagement, collective deliberation, collaborative efforts, and respect for local knowledge. These values serve as the foundation for building inclusive, accountable, and sustainable village governance. Thus, village democracy not only functions as a political mechanism, but also as a tool to maintain the cultural values inherent in the community.
