Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of buffalo paper piecing on the fine motor development of children aged five to six years. This study used quantitative methodology in the form of Quasi Exsperimental Design, with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Class B students of Kartika I-61 Padang Kindergarten became the research population, with class B1 (20 people) and class B2 (20 people) becoming the research samples. An action test with eight assessment items was used in the data collection method. Statement sheets were used as data collection instruments, and normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis tests were used in the data analysis approach. The data obtained were then processed using t-test using the help of SPSS 25.0 for windows application which showed a significant level of 0.000. The effect size of 1.90 was obtained, which means it is classified in the high category. Thus, the activity of tying using buffalo paper is effectively used to develop children's fine motor development aspects and teachers are very suitable to use buffalo paper tying activities as a medium in developing children's fine motor development aspects.
