Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of mass media coverage on the Rohingya conflict and how media framing influences the response of Indonesian society. Using a qualitative approach through documentation studies, this research examines reports from various prominent online media such as Kompas.com, CNN.com, Liputan6.com, Detik.com, and BBC Indonesia. The analysis results show that mass media play a strategic role in shaping public perception through different framings, ranging from humanitarian framing, human rights violations, to security and rejection aspects. The dominant humanitarian framing successfully increases empathy and solidarity among Indonesians toward Rohingya refugees, while negative framing has the potential to cause tension and rejection. Furthermore, the media also influence public opinion regarding government policies related to conflict management. This study emphasizes the importance of mass media in constructing balanced and responsible narratives to encourage constructive social responses and support human rights protection.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the local Aceh party's victory in the 2024 legislative election demonstrates the success of political communication strategies employed by the elected members of the Aceh Regional House of Representatives. This study aims to analyze the political communication strategies used by local party members in winning the election and how these strategies build closeness with voters in Aceh. The research method is qualitative with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis related to political campaigns. The results indicate that a combination of interpersonal communication, utilization of social media, and integration of local cultural values are key to the success of the local party’s political communication strategy. This study contributes new insights by highlighting the importance of local wisdom-based political communication and the role of traditional and religious leaders in strengthening political support in a special autonomous region like Aceh. The findings can serve as a reference for developing more effective and contextual political communication strategies in regions with similar characteristics.

Abstract

This study analyzes the formation of a digital brand community through Persib Bandung fan interactions on social media. The research aims to examine how content distribution, message functions, and engagement patterns contribute to the construction of collective identity and digital rituals among supporters. Using a qualitative-interpretative content analysis supported by quantitative descriptive data, this study analyzes 418 posts published on Persib Bandung's official Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, and YouTube accounts from November 27 to December 10, 2025. The findings reveal that Persib Bandung generated 29,543,663 total interactions, with Instagram and TikTok emerging as the most affective platforms for engagement. Non-match content (41.4%) and emotional or motivational messages (40.2%) dominate communication. Despite high public engagement, no evidence of two-way talkback from the official account was found, indicating a predominantly one-way communication model. The study concludes that Bobotoh function as a digital brand community characterized by collective identity, digital rituals, loyalty, symbolic ownership, and co-creation of brand meaning through measurable public interactions. This research contributes to the understanding of sports communication and digital brand communities in emerging football markets.
