Abstract

This research focuses on the development of an environmentally friendly power generator for residential homes using a car alternator driven by a Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) electric motor. The study aims to reduce fossil fuel consumption and air pollution produced by conventional generators. The designed system integrates a car alternator, a BLDC motor, an inverter, and batteries to create a sustainable energy source. An experimental approach was used to test the energy efficiency and power stability of the generated output. The research findings indicate that this system can meet residential power needs during outages with optimal energy efficiency and without producing exhaust emissions. The implementation of this system is expected to be an environmentally friendly and economical alternative for households, while also supporting government programs to mitigate the negative impacts of air pollution. This study designed and tested a household-scale power generator using a 140A car alternator driven by a 550 Watt BLDC motor. Testing was conducted in several stages with variations in pulley size (4 inches, 1.5 inches, and 2.5 inches) and motor power sources (48VDC battery and power from the alternator itself). The test results show that the system is capable of providing backup power during outages, can operate optimally for 1.5 hours, can produce stable Direct Current (DC) voltage at rotations above 850 r/min, and can supply up to 397 Watts of power simultaneously. Keywords: environmentally friendly power plant, car alternator, BLDC electric motor, energy efficiency, air pollution.
