Abstract

Computer Based Test (CBT) requires robust, stable, and user-friendly network infrastructure. At SMKN 1 Negerikaton, students still access CBT using numeric IP addresses, complicating use and risking errors during simultaneous tests. Furthermore, the school uses four identical servers, resulting in excessive electricity consumption, management complexity, and inefficient hardware use. This study aims to develop a local DNS Server on Debian 12 to allow students to access CBT using a human-readable domain name, improving user experience while optimizing infrastructure. The research employs the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC), including analysis, design, simulation with VirtualBox and GNS3, implementation of BIND9 on Debian, and monitoring and management. Results show DNS resolution times improve from 200–400 ms to <50 ms. Server infrastructure was consolidated from four machines into one physical server running multiple virtual machines for DNS and CBT services. Mikrotik routers manage DHCP and NAT, and switches were upgraded to Gigabit Ethernet to handle 140 simultaneous clients effectively. This approach is low-cost, open-source, and highly effective in supporting large-scale CBT in schools. The research demonstrates a practical and replicable method for other schools seeking to modernize CBT delivery with limited budgets.

Abstract

In this era of globalization, companies are required to have quality human resources to compete in the international market. An effective and efficient employee selection process has become one of the important factors in obtaining employees that meet the company's needs. This research aims to develop a decision support system (DSS) that can assist companies in the process of selecting new employees using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The SAW method is chosen because of its good capability in solving multi-criteria problems by converting various alternative criteria into a numerical scale, allowing for simple and comprehensive calculations. This system is built using a specific programming language and has been tested to ensure its accuracy and reliability. The results of this study indicate that the developed decision support system is capable of providing accurate and effective recommendations in the process of selecting new employees. This system is expected to become an important tool for companies in making timely and appropriate decisions, and can be adapted for various selection needs in the future.

Abstract

The development of information technology encourages digital transformation in various sectors, includingpublic services at the village level. Village governments, as basic service providers for the community, arerequired to provide fast, efficient, and transparent services. However, many villages still rely on manualadministrative processes, including Teluk Dalem Village, Mataram Baru Sub-district, East LampungRegency. This research aims to design and implement a web-based community service information systemto improve the quality of village public services. The method used was Research and Development (R&D)with a prototyping approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews,and literature studies. The developed system includes administrative document submission services such asKTP, Family Card, Birth Certificate, SKTM, and Death Letter. The implementation results show anincrease in service efficiency, queue reduction, and increased transparency and accountability of theservice process. This system also supports the achievement of the smart village concept through digitizationof services that are responsive to community needs. This research is expected to become a model fordeveloping village information systems that can be replicated in other areas.
