Abstract

One of the medical plants is Jatropha plant which has good antimicrobial activity for gram negative-positive bacteria. The purpose of this research is to find out the formulation and ability of jatropha leaves extract liquid soap. This type of research is experimental research. working procedures consist of sampling, plant identification; sample processin, extracing, making liquid soap and evaluating liquid dosage form (organoleptic, pH test, high foam, specific gravity). Organolpetic test results of all formulas have a liquid and viscous form. The white base smells like a scented rose, formula 5% wa green, formula 10% was dark brown and formula 15% was dark brown; formula 5%, 10%, 15% special odor of Jatropha leaves. Base pH test 9.7; formula (5%, 10% 15%), 9.6; 9.8;9.5. base foam height tet 61.53 mm, formula (5%, 10% 15%) shich is 70.51mm; 56.81 mm; 76.47 mm. Base specific gravity test 0,79/ml, formula (5%, 10% 15%) namely 1,01g/ml; 1..01g/ml; 1.01g/ml. This study can be concluded that the quality of liquid soap of Jatropha leaves ethanol extract meets the requirements of good liquid soap accordance with the standards set by SNI 06-4085-1996 namely organoleptic tests, pH test, high foam test, and specific gravity test

Use the medical treatment continuous sometimes has adverse side effects, so that treatment using traditional plants is an alternative treatment. This literature study aims to determine the potential of traditional plants that can be used for healing burns obtained from published research journals. Aloe vera (L.) Burm. F., Allium ascalonicum L., Artocarpus altilis, Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb and Piper betle Linn. are some plants that have the potential to help heal burns. The content of secondary metabolite compounds contained in it can help in healing burns such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins and saponins

Abstract

Self-medication has the potential to become a source of medication errors if the community's knowledge of drugs and their use is very limited. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and rationality of self-medication community in Tanah Baru subdistrict, Beji district, Depok city. This research was conducted with a cross sectional d escriptive research method. Data were collected through filling out a validated online questionnaire. All of 375 respondents who was involved in this study were selected by the snowball sampling method. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods in the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program version 18. The results showed that the level of knowledge in community 24% was good classified, 40.8% were medium classified and 35.2% were bad classified with an average score of 14.01. The use of self medicated drugs was 31.5% irrational and 68.5% rational. Based on the result of Chi-square and Fisher, the level of knowledge was influenced by recent education and job with p 0.00 and p 0.04 (p value <0.05). Meanwhile rationality of self medication was influenced by recent education with p 0.03 (p value <0.05). In addition, the level of knowledge about self-medication does not have a significant effect to rationality of self- medication. Recent education and job of community affect the level of self-medication knowledge, and the rationality of self-medication was affected by recent education.
