Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis dan self-efficacy peserta didik kelas X SMK Negeri 6 Medan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan post-test only control group design dengan sampel penelitian dua kelas menjadi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol berjumlah 64 siswa, dengan teknik random sampling. Kelas eksperimen diajarkan dengan model Discovery Learning dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensial. Instrumen yang digunakan tes kemampuan representasi matematis dan angket self-efficacy. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi (Sig.2-tailed) sebesar 0,003 < 0,05 dan nilai signifikansi (Sig.2-tailed) self-efficacy peserta didik sebesar 0,004 < 0,05 pada taraf signifikan 5 % yang menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis pada materi sistem pertidaksamaan linear dua variabel di kelas X. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh model Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis sebesar 0,739 dan self-efficacy peserta didik sebesar 0,723.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning on students' conceptual understanding and mathematical problem solving abilities on quadratic function material at SMK Negeri 5 Medan 2024/2025. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive. The research population was all class X, and the research sample consisted of 65 class X students. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling technique. The instruments used were tests, questionnaires and observation sheets. Hypothesis testing in this study used t-test and descriptive test. The results of the study showed that: (1) problem-based learning has an effect on conceptual understanding abilities, (2) the magnitude of the influence of problem-based learning on students' conceptual understanding abilities is 89.2%, (3) problem-based learning has an effect on mathematical problem solving abilities, (4) the magnitude of the influence of problem-based learning on problem solving abilities is 69.0%, (5) problem-based learning on students' conceptual understanding abilities is effective, (6) problem-based learning on problem solving abilities are effective.
