Abstract

Online prostitution is a behavior that has the potential to be destructive, where individuals can engage in interpersonal relationships without formal commitment or attachment to a marital relationship. Factors driving online prostitution include limited parental supervision, low education, economic pressure in the family, influence from media and technology, and interactions with peers. The impact of having an unhealthy relationship is the risk to physical and mental health, as well as disruption in social and family relationships. Christian religious education has an important role in dealing with youth who engage in online prostitution. Christian education teaches spiritual values, strong moral and ethical foundations, and can provide views regarding the dignity of humans as God's creation. Education with this model can also provide support to young people to stay away from online prostitution behavior and live a better life according to the teachings of Christianity. This research uses qualitative methods with a literature review approach to find out the role of religious education in preventing young people from engaging in online prostitution. So the aim of this article is to provide an insight into the factors driving young people to engage in online prostitution, its negative impacts and the role of Christian religious education in overcoming this problem.

Abstract

Nature, as a living environment, has been gifted to us by God to be used and exploited for human well-being. Humans are far from aware of the importance of environmental preservation. The low level of environmental awareness among the GMIM Alfa Omega Kumaraka Dalam congregation, who live in a flood-prone area, exacerbates flooding, causing losses for those affected. The environment is increasingly damaged by irresponsible human actions. Using a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach, the researcher described what was seen, heard, felt, and asked through direct and indirect observations and interviews. Through this research, the researcher found a lack of dedicated attention from the church to congregations with minimal environmental awareness. Pastors focused too much on providing advice through sermons during services, but lacked a dedicated approach to the congregation. Visits to provide pastoral care to the congregation were rare. The church must be able to fulfill its duties and responsibilities to serve the congregation by maximizing assistance to those with minimal environmental awareness so that the church can guide, support, heal, restore, nurture, and strengthen the lives of the congregation in all aspects of their lives.

Abstract

This article discusses humans who seek a name for their own fame in Genesis 11:1-9. Those humans want to find a name so that they will not be scattered all over the earth. The construction of the tower of Babel became a popular story in the days of Noah's descendants because of its towering structure. This became a reference for the humans to seek a name so that the whole world would recognize their greatness and power. The Tower of Babel became a symbol of human pride and arrogance. Seeking a name outside of God is inappropriate and will only bring the Lord's wrath, instead the right thing to do is for man to approach the LORD God not to seek a name for his greatness but to glorify the LORD. Therefore, in relation to this point, the research was conducted through hermeneutic work with the method of historical criticism. The researcher does hermeneutic work to get the right meaning and can be a reference for readers, especially for the GMIM Alfa Omega Kumaraka In .
