Abstract

This study aims to analyze the socialization process of implementing a mobile application for English language learning among Information Systems students and to evaluate the effectiveness of the socialization. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, collecting data through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The subjects consist of 30 students purposively selected based on their interest and readiness to participate in the socialization. The socialization process includes material delivery, application demonstration, and brief training. Results show an increase in students’ positive perceptions regarding the ease of use and benefits of the application in supporting English learning. Additionally, students’ learning interest significantly improved after the socialization. The effectiveness evaluation reveals that the delivered material is easy to understand, and the interactive methods successfully engage student enthusiasm. The usage of the mobile application among students notably increased, both in terms of downloads and routine usage frequency. However, some challenges remain related to motivation for consistent application use, which should be addressed in future development and socialization efforts. This study recommends enhancing technical support and motivation strategies to encourage sustainable adoption. Thus, implementing mobile applications in English learning can be an effective alternative to improve learning quality in the digital era.

Abstract

Child developmental delay is a public health issue that needs to be identified early to prevent long-term impacts on children’s quality of life. In Rantau Prapat Sub-district, cases are still found among toddlers with undernutrition, incomplete immunizations, and suboptimal developmental stimulation, which may pose risks of growth and developmental delays. This study aims to apply the Naive Bayes method in identifying child developmental delays based on health data collected through medical records and questionnaires. The research method includes data collection, pre-processing (cleaning, transformation, and normalization), classification using the Naive Bayes algorithm, and model validation with the k-fold cross-validation technique. The results showed that out of 150 toddler data samples, 30.7% experienced developmental delays, with the dominant influencing factors being nutritional status and immunization completeness. The Naive Bayes algorithm achieved an accuracy rate of 87.3% with a precision of 84.1%, recall of 85.7%, and F1-score of 84.9%. These findings demonstrate that Naive Bayes can be used as a decision support system in the early identification process of child developmental delays. Therefore, the results of this study are expected to assist healthcare workers, particularly midwives, in improving the quality of early detection and delivering more targeted interventions for children in the Rantau Prapat area.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the government sector has increased the use of information technology in delivering public services. This condition requires government organizations to ensure adequate information security to protect data and systems from various cyber threats. This study aims to assess the level of information security resilience at the Communication and Informatics Office of Padang City in supporting digital transformation by referring to the ISO/IEC 27001 standard and using the KAMI Index 5.0 evaluation instrument. The research employed a descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis in the KAMI Index assessment process. The results show that the level of compliance with the information security framework achieved a score of 518, indicating that the organization has met the basic framework for implementing information security based on the ISO/IEC 27001 standard. However, the implementation maturity level remains at Level II, indicating that several information security management processes have been implemented but are not yet fully documented and optimally managed. Therefore, improvement recommendations are proposed to enhance the maturity level, comprising specific recommendations across seven areas: information security governance (5), risk management (14), security framework (5), asset management (13), technology and security (6), personal data protection (11), and supplementary (6). These recommendations are expected to serve as a foundation to improve information security management effectiveness, thereby supporting the sustainability of local government digital services.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has created new opportunities to support children's social-emotional learning through interactive digital media. However, information systems that integrate mindfulness practices with gamification remain limited, despite their potential to enhance emotion regulation and reduce anxiety among young children. This study aims to develop a Gamification-Based Mindfulness Information System as an engaging and effective learning medium for kindergarten children. The study employed the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, consisting of problem identification, system design, development, implementation, and evaluation. A web-based application was developed featuring mindfulness activities, points, badges, achievement levels, and monitoring dashboards for teachers and parents. The software quality was evaluated based on the ISO/IEC 25010 standard, focusing on Functional Suitability, Usability, and Performance Efficiency. System effectiveness was assessed by comparing children's emotion regulation scores before and after the intervention using pre-test and post-test measurements. The results indicate that the developed system achieved excellent software quality and successfully met user requirements. Furthermore, the application significantly improved children's emotion regulation after its implementation. The integration of mindfulness and gamification increased children's engagement in learning, highlighting the potential of the proposed system as an innovative digital tool for supporting social-emotional learning in early childhood education.
