Abstract

To help students survive and compete in global interaction, teachers have to facilitate their students to be able to gain such writing competence. The ability in conducting a good writing is unavoidable. This ability plays a significant role to get and express one’s idea, thought and opinions. Students have to be able to absorb the idea of the text and create a good writing in many kinds of text including hortatory explanation text. Having a good writing, they could write for various purposes; to write a job letter, to share their idea and thought in face book or blogs and to write their own report on science experiments. In some cases, in the process of constructing the writing a text, we found the most difficulty faced by the students was in creating outline. They will face difficulties to reach the indicator in writing a text. As an instructional tool, graphic organizers (GOs) have been highly recommended and used in contemporary classrooms. GOs are said to be particularly valuable. Writing a text will be easy for students when they understand how to organize ideas. Organizing ideas could be studied from graphic organizers technique. So, based on the previous cases, the writer considers that graphic organizers tend to help students to organize ideas in writing a text.Keywords: Graphic Organizers, Writing Skill, Hortatory Explanation Text.

Abstract

Abstract: The first six years in childhood is called golden period. This period is crucial for the child growth and development in intellectual, spiritual, phisical and motorical, emotional and social aspect.the growth and the development could be supported by providing education stimulus. Those education could make children learn joyfully which applied playing essense because playing is the children’s life in pre-school age. One of the learning method could be applied for teaching early childhood is by using ‘Beyond Centers and Circle Time’ approach. It’s like what have been applied by the playgroup of Naneymi Alam Muria Kudus. By deviding centers into four; preparation center, beam center, fluid-nature center, and creativity center; teacher could hep children to develop their various intelligent and development aspects. Center is the best integrated learning. This approach is proved very effective used in early childhood learning. Abstrak: Periode enam tahun pertama dalam kehidupan anak disebut dengan masa keemasan (golden period). Masa ini adalah masa yang paling penting dalam pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak dalam segi intelektual, spiritual, fisik motorik, emosional dan sosial. Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tersebut dapat didukung oleh pemberian rangsangan pendidikan. Pendidikan tersebut mampu untuk membuat anak usia dini belajar dengan menyenangkan yang menerapkan esensi bermain karena bermain merupakan dunia anak usia prasekolah. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengajar anak usia dini adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan sentra (Beyond Centers and Circle Time) seperti yang dilakukan pada kelompok bermain (KB) Naneymi Alam Muria Kudus. Dengan membagi sentra menjadi empat macam; yakni sentra persiapan, sentra balok, sentra alam cair, dan sentra kreativitas; guru dapat membantu anak untuk mengembangkan berbagai aspek perkembangan dan kecerdasannya. Sentra adalah pembelajaran terpadu yang terbaik. Pendekatan ini terbukti sangat efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini.
