Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran buzz group terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada materi aljabar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Kualuh Hulu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain one group prettest-posttest. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 34 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar yang diberikan sebelum (pretest) dan sesudah (posttest) penerapan metode pembelajaran buzz group. Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif untuk mengetahui nilai rata-rata, nilai terendah, nilai tertinggi serta standar deviasi dan dilanjutkan dengan uji inferensial untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan hasil belajar matematika setelah diterapkan metode pembelajaran buzz group. Nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 56,0 meningkat menjadi 84,80 pada posttest dengan kategori sangat baik. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji wilcoxon signed rank test melalui bantuan program SPSS versi 27. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05, sehingga Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode pembelajaran buzz group terhadap hasil belajar matematika pada materi aljabar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Kualuh Hulu. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the buzz group learning method on students’ mathematics learning outcomes in the topic of algebra among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kualuh Hulu. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 34 students. The instrument used was a learning achievement test administered before (pretest) and after (posttest) the implementation of the buzz group learning method. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to obtain the mean, minimum score, maximum score, and standard deviation, followed by inferential statistical analysis to test the research hypothesis. The results showed a significant improvement in mathematics learning outcomes after the implementation of the buzz group learning method. The average pretest score of 56% increased to 84% in the posttest, categorized as very good. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the assistance of SPSS version 27. The results indicated a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, which means that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. This confirms that the buzz group learning method has a positive effect on students’ mathematics learning outcomes in the topic of algebra among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kualuh Hulu.
