Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of active participation of students in social studies learning through the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model assisted by flash card media. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method, collecting data through observations, pretest and posttest results, and documentation during the learning process. The subjects of the study were 32 seventh-grade students from SMP IT Insan Permata Malang. The instrument used was an observation sheet for active participation, which included five indicators: asking questions, answering, discussing, cooperating, and enthusiasm. The data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively by categorizing the observation scores into three categories: Passive, Sufficient, and Active. The results showed that 56.25% of students were classified as active, 34.38% as sufficiently active, and only 9.38% as passive in their participation in the learning process. These findings indicate that the TGT model assisted by flash card media can encourage students to engage more actively and foster high learning motivation through a fun and competitive learning environment in social studies subjects. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui penerapan model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) berbantuan media flash card. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi, hasil pretest posttest, dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas VII Zainab SMP IT Insan Permata Malang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi partisipasi aktif yang berisi lima indikator, yaitu bertanya, menjawab, berdiskusi, kerja sama, dan antusiasme. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan mengelompokkan skor observasi ke dalam tiga kategori: Pasif, Cukup, dan Aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 56,25% siswa tergolong aktif, 34,38% cukup aktif, dan hanya 9,38% tergolong pasif dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa model TGT berbantuan media flash card dapat mendorong siswa untuk lebih terlibat secara aktif serta menumbuhkan motivasi belajar yang tinggi melalui suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan kompetitif pada mata pelajaran IPS..
