Abstract

ABSTRACT This article aims to systematically examine the relationship between the transformation of operational strategy, the implementation of green banking, and the principles of Islamic banking in addressing sustainability challenges. In the evolving banking industry, integrating operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, and Sharia-based values has become increasingly crucial. The methodology used in this study is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA guidelines. A total of 30 scholarly articles published between 2018 and 2024 were analyzed thematically to identify trends, dominant findings, and research gaps. The results reveal that, although there is a positive trend in the development of green banking and digital transformation in Islamic banking, the integration of these three aspects remains limited. There is a lack of theoretical frameworks that simultaneously combine sustainability and Sharia principles within operational banking practices. Therefore, this article recommends the development of a conceptual framework that can effectively align operational strategies, green banking principles, and the objectives of maqashid sharia. Theoretically, this study contributes to the foundation for future research, while practically, it serves as a reference for Islamic banking management in designing sustainable strategies that balance economic, social, and spiritual values
