Abstract

The aim of this study is to promote living the life with less which will impact less waste production and practicing life sustainability. Life with less means being minimalist. Being minimalist means less waste and we are practicing sustainability of life. Why is this so important? People should be aware and realize our standard of living is physically and environmentally unsustainable. Waste is one of our biggest problems in our country, take a look in some of our seas there are tons of waste everywhere. It’s not only polluting the environment but it’s also threatening the creatures which live in it. The fact of plastic waste needs 1000 years to be fully decomposed, while decomposing it will contaminate the soil. By practicing life with less the goal of less waste and the awareness of living sustainability life will help the world we are living to be healthier for the next thousands of years. The action needs to be done by ourselves, and one of the educational institutions' duties is to spread the issue to the educator practitioners and the whole ecosystem in order to be more aware and to practice everything that needs to be done. The research uses the netnography, it is one of qualitative research methods which is initiated by consumer research name Robert Kozinets.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a discourse on the concepts of IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient), SQ (Spiritual Quotient) and the role of each intelligence in shaping a successful person in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis. This approach is carried out by searching and analysing relevant theoretical sources to gain a deep understanding of the research topic. The content analysis involves systematic analysis of textual, visual, or audio content to identify patterns, themes, or meanings within the data. This approach is important in developing quality research and providing a holistic understanding of the topic under research. The results of this research show that in the discourse on intelligence IQ, EQ, and SQ have their own differences and roles. IQ is likened to "hardware" that affects a person's cognitive capacity, EQ as "software" that affects the quality of social relationships, while SQ is the moral core that directs the value and purpose of using intelligence. Within this overall discourse of intelligence, this research shows that understanding and applying these concepts can positively impact individuals, social relationships and the meaningful and valued use of intelligence. Based on the results of the research, it is suggested that it is important to develop the concepts of intelligence in education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The research aims to identify the learning needs of Gen-Z students regarding research methodology and to develop a contextualized Research Methodology Textbook tailored to their characteristics and ELT practices. This study addresses this gap by the challenges faced by English Education students in comprehending research methodology, which are largely due to the overly theoretical and textual nature of existing textbooks. Using a Research and Development (R&D) design guided by the ADDIE model, the study involved 20 fifth-semester students and 3 lecturers from the English Language Teaching Department at 5 universities at Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, classroom observations, and expert validation checklists. Quantitative analysis showed that students’ confidence in understanding research methodology was relatively low (M = 2.8), suggesting that methodological concepts remain challenging when presented through conventional textbooks. Lecturers’ slightly higher rating (M = 3.2) reflects their awareness of these difficulties and highlights the urgent need for contextualized learning resources tailored to English Education students. Qualitative findings revealed that Qualitative insights reinforce the quantitative results, showing that the primary barrier to students’ mastery of research methodology is the theoretical and text-heavy structure of existing textbooks. Students frequently reported that traditional explanations feel abstract and disconnected from their experiences as future English teachers. These findings suggest that research methodology learning materials be redesigned to include visual, interactive, and ELT-contextualized components, supported by step-by-step scaffolding to address Gen-Z learners’ difficulties with theoretical explanations.

Abstract

Backround: The Montessori method offers an innovative approach to early childhood education, but its implementation in Indonesia faces various challenges. Objective: This study examines the effectiveness and implementation of the Montessori method in Indonesian PAUD institutions using a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design. The research was carried out in 5 Montessori PAUD institutions in Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta (January-June 2024).Method: The quantitative component involved 120 children aged 3-6 years with pre-test and post-test using ASQ-3, Child Development Inventory, Montessori Assessment Checklist, SSRS, and DESSA-mini, analyzed by paired sample t-test and ANOVA. The qualitative component included structured observation (600 hours), in-depth interviews with 25 teachers and 5 principals, and focus group discussions with 100 parents, analyzed using thematic analysis.Findings and Implications: Quantitative results showed a significant increase (p<0.001): independence 42.7% (Cohen’s d=1.87), cognitive 38.5%, and social-emotional 44.3%. The quality of the prepared environment is strongly correlated with developmental outcomes (r=0.78). The qualitative analysis identified five themes: prepared environment as a foundation, transformation of the role of teachers into observer-facilitators (68% of the time for observation), practical life activities as the key to independence, mixed-age grouping facilitating peer learning, and implementation challenges including the scarcity of trained teachers (68%), high material costs (76%), and parental misconceptions (58%).Conclusion: The Montessori method is effective in optimizing the holistic development of children when implemented with high fidelity. Government policies are needed for certification recognition, material subsidies, development of local production, and systematic parent education to expand access to quality Montessori education.
