Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of the School Committee's role at SDIT Idrisiyyah Cidahu in performing its functions. The School Committee plays a crucial role in supporting the improvement of educational quality through various functions: providing considerations, support, control, and mediation. However, the effectiveness of these roles often varies. This study aims to identify the extent to which the School Committee at SDIT Idrisiyyah Cidahu effectively carries out its functions. The research methodology employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing interviews and observations as data collection techniques to gain an in-depth understanding of the activities and impact of the School Committee's role. The findings indicate that, out of the four primary functions of the School Committee, only the support and mediator functions are effectively implemented at SDIT Idrisiyyah Cidahu. The functions of providing considerations and control have not demonstrated optimal effectiveness, suggesting gaps in the committee's active participation in strategic decision-making and policy oversight. The significance of this research is highly relevant to the field of Islamic Education Management, as it offers insights into school governance dynamics and the potential for developing the School Committee's role to achieve better educational outcomes. These findings recommend the need to enhance the capacity and optimize the School Committee's role, particularly in the aspects of consideration and control, to foster a more comprehensive collaboration between the school and the community.

Abstract

The homeroom teacher has an important role in shaping and changing students' disciplined character, because the homeroom teacher is a source of learning and a role model for students in shaping and changing students' behavior into good individuals, especially in terms of learning discipline. The relationship between the homeroom teacher and students, especially communication relationships, will influence student learning effectiveness because students have confidence that the homeroom teacher will always pay attention to them so that students strive to improve their learning effectiveness. In addition, through reciprocal communication or interaction between the homeroom teacher and students, it influences the upholding of discipline and increases learning motivation. To determine students' discipline and learning motivation and determine the role of the homeroom teacher in improving students' discipline and learning motivation. The method used in this research is a qualitative method by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The role of the homeroom teacher in improving student discipline and learning motivation at the Idrisiyyah Putri Islamic Boarding School, the role of the homeroom teacher as a motivator, class manager, mentor and initiator. two aspects that are interrelated and mutually reinforcing in creating a productive and effective learning environment. Good discipline creates a strong foundation for student learning motivation while learning motivation produces better results in efforts to achieve goals. Therefore, the role of the homeroom teacher in improving student discipline and learning motivation is very important in ensuring that these two aspects are managed well so that students can achieve their maximum learning potential.
