Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of English teaching methods based on the Merdeka Curriculum at the junior high school level in Palopo City. The main focus of this study is to identify the methods used, the barriers faced by teachers, and their perceptions of these methods. This study employs a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews with English teachers at four schools, two public and two private. The results indicate that private schools tend to be more proactive in implementing methods such as project-based learning and communicative language teaching, whereas public schools remain dominated by conventional methods. The barriers faced by teachers are divided into three categories: internal, external, and contextual. However, teachers have a positive perception of the Merdeka Curriculum and demonstrate a willingness to develop more contextual teaching methods. This study recommends the need for ongoing training, improved infrastructure, and policy support to optimize the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Perkembangan kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) dalam birokrasi publik menuntut kesiapan sosial sumber daya manusia, khususnya mahasiswa administrasi negara sebagai calon aparatur negara. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kesiapan sosial mahasiswa Ilmu Administrasi Publik (Ilmu Administrasi Negara) Universitas Cahaya Prima dalam menghadapi implikasi sosial penerapan AI dalam birokrasi publik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa telah memiliki kesiapan sosial awal, namun belum berkembang secara optimal. Pada dimensi kognitif, pemahaman terhadap AI masih terbatas pada aspek teknis dan fungsional. Pada dimensi afektif, mahasiswa menunjukkan sikap positif terhadap pemanfaatan AI, meskipun disertai kekhawatiran mengenai berkurangnya peran manusia dan potensi ketidakadilan algoritmik. Pada dimensi psikomotorik, mahasiswa mampu memanfaatkan AI dalam kegiatan akademik, tetapi belum sepenuhnya disertai kesadaran etis dan reflektif. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi literasi AI dan etika publik dalam pendidikan administrasi publik serta memberikan kontribusi akademik berupa penguatan kerangka konseptual kesiapan sosial tiga dimensi dalam konteks transformasi birokrasi berbasis kecerdasan buatan.
