Percakapan anak-anak memiliki ciri khas berdasarkan latar belakang kehidupan di sekitarnya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pola dan ciri khas percakapan anak-anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik studi pustaka dari sumber data berupa novel Guha Karang Legok Pari karya Hidayat Soesanto. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kartu data digital. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 38 data percakapan, baik percakapan antara anak dengan anak maupun percakapan antara anak dengan orang tua. Berdasarkan jumlah ujarannya, terdapat delapan pola percakapan, yaitu percakapan dua ujaran, percakapan tiga ujaran, percakapan empat ujaran, percakapan lima ujaran, percakapan tujuh ujaran, percakapan delapan ujaran, percakapan sebelas ujaran, dan percakapan tiga belas ujaran. Ciri khas percakapan anak-anak dalam novel ini terdapat pada isi tuturan, panjang kalimat, pilihan kata, jumlah kata, pelibat dalam komunikasi, serta cara bertutur antara anak kota dengan anak nelayan.Children’s conversations have distinctive characteristics influenced by their social backgrounds. This study aims to describe the patterns and features of children’s conversations in Hidayat Soesanto’s novel Guha Karang Legok Pari. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through library research using the novel as the primary data source, supported by digital data cards as instruments. The study identified 38 conversational data, including child-to-child and child-to-adult interactions. Based on the number of utterances, eight conversation patterns were found: dialogues with two, three, four, five, seven, eight, eleven, and thirteen utterances. The distinctive features of children’s conversations in the novel are reflected in the content of speech, sentence length, word choice, number of words, communication participants, and speaking styles, particularly the differences between urban and fishing village children.
