Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution of blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. This type of research design is descriptive analytic. The population is obtain from outpatient medical record data for diabetes mellitus patients for the last 3 months from January to March 2022 with a total of 63 people. The sample of this study amount to 63 people. Data collection is obtained through medical record data and the results of examination of blood glucose levels. The results of this study find that respondents with high fasting blood glucose levels are 54 people (85.9%), the age range that suffer the most from diabetes mellitus was the age range of 65-74 years. The increase in blood glucose is due to genetic factors, immunological factors, immunological factors, environment, age, and obesity.

Abstract

Number of people with hypertension continues to increase every year, there will be 1.5 billion people affected by hypertension, and every year 9, 4 million people died due to hypertension and its complications. The supporting examination for hypertension is an examination of the total levels of HDL and LDL cholesterol. This study aims to identify the examination of HDL and LDL cholesterol levels in patients with hypertension at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan 2022. This study used a descriptive analytic design. The population was obtained from medical record data, namely all inpatients and outpatients suffering from hypertension at Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan for the last 3 months from January to March 2022 as many as 278 people with a total sample of 73 using purposive sampling technique. The examination was carried out using an automated chemistry analyzer Siemens dimension EXL 200. The results showed that more hypertensive respondents had abnormal HDL levels as many as 38 respondents (52.1%) and more than 69 respondents (94.5) had normal LDL levels. %). So from these results it was concluded that there was an abnormal increase in HDL levels and a decrease in LDL levels in patients with hypertension

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is a gram-positive, round-shaped bacterium that resembles a grape. This bacterium produces toxins that can damage host cells, so it often shows resistance to some types of antibiotics. Alternative solutions based on natural ingredients are needed to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria, one of which is lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia S.), which has bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and citric acid. The study aims to determine the ability of lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia S.) to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in the Laboratory of the Santa Elisabeth Medan College of Health Sciences 2025. This research is a quantitative research using True experimental design with Post test only control group design. The results of the inhibition zone of lime juice with a concentration of 25% = 4.5 mm (weak), 50% = 6 mm (medium), 75% = 8.4 mm (medium), 100% = 12.2 mm (strong) and 0% = 0 mm with 5 repetitions. The results of the One Way ANOVA statistical test showed that the test of the inhibitory power of lime juice on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus showed a value (P = 0.000), which means (Ha) was accepted, namely there was an inhibitory power of lime juice on the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This study can be concluded that lime juice (Citrus aurantifolia S.) has the ability to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria with various concentrations of lime juice containing secondary metabolites that have antimicrobial properties, namely Alkaloids and Flavonoids.
