Abstract

In the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, PT Industri Komkar Indonesia seeks to improve production efficiency. This research analyses and implements line balancing for production line optimisation. Data collection methods are carried out by observing cycle time, adjusting documents listed in the field, and interviews. The analysis results showed workload imbalance. Proposed line balancing improvements were designed to reduce idle time and work in process, and increase efficiency. This research contributes to the practice of production optimisation at PT Industri Komkar Indonesia and provides theoretical insights into the application of line balancing in manufacturing in Indonesia during the period of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Abstract

This study focuses on PT. XYZ, specifically examining critical path analysis in the rubber keypad manufacturing process. The urgency of the issue lies in the importance of understanding and managing the critical path. The study method begins with a field study to collect cycle time data and precedent relationships through direct observation, which are then visualized in an Operational Process Map. Core analysis is performed by determining the critical path using the Precedence Diagram Method (PDM) through manual calculations of time and float parameters. For validation and visualization, the calculation results are compared with simulations using Microsoft Project software. The results of this study showed that 60% of the production process was a critical path with 0 slack, so the company needed intensive supervision because small errors could have a wide impact on other work stations.
