Abstract

This research is caused by low students learning results in third grade of public elementary school 02 sialang of sub-district kapur IX so that learning exhaustiveness desired  in write poetry not yet achieved. This research is a classroom activities research using an approach qualitative and quantitative. Data sources is the process implementation of poetry writing lesson using song media. Research subjects are teacher and third grade student of public elementary school 02 sialang. Based on research results cycle I shows  achievement that obtained by student on pre-writing stage is 60, writing is 65 and after writing is 63. Whilein cycle II is increased, on pre-writing stage is 89, writing is 89 and after writing is 86. Thus it can be concluded using song media can increase student’s poetry writing skills.
