Abstract

Learning Civics in primary schools are still monotonous and the development of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor students are less well developed, so that the students have not learned Civics as expected. To overcome the action by using the method of playing a role. The research was conducted in two cycles of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data were obtained through observations, interviews, field notes, documentation and test results. The results of the planning study was 89.2% first cycle and the second cycle was 96.4%, the increase is 7.2%. In the aspect of teachers' first cycle was 75% and the second cycle was 92.5%, 17.5% increase. From the aspect of students' first cycle was 72% and the second cycle was 87.5%, the increase is 15.5%. The average yield learning cycle I was 69.6% and the second cycle was 85.7%, 16.1% increase. Thus the role play method can improve learning outcomes in class V Civics Education SDN 10 Transverse Valley district of West Pasaman.
