Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the strategies used by grade XI Culinary Arts students at SMKN 3 Pacitan in developing their English language skills in the context of implementing the Independent Curriculum. Using descriptive quantitative methods, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that students utilized various strategies, such as independent learning through digital platforms, interaction with teachers and friends in English, and the application of English in Culinary Arts practicum activities. In addition, support from the curriculum that provides students with the freedom to learn flexibly and independently is an important factor in developing English language skills. This study contributes to the development of English learning strategies in vocational schools that are relevant to their fields of expertise and support students' needs in the global era.
